🚗 WHAT SHOULD YOU DO AFTER YOU’VE BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT?
An accident can leave you shaken and unsure of what to do next. Take a breath and follow these steps:
1️⃣ Check for injuries first.
Make sure everyone is safe. If anyone is injured, call 911 immediately.
2️⃣ Move to a safe location if you can.
If the vehicles are drivable and it’s safe to do so, move out of traffic. Turn on your hazard lights.
3️⃣ Call the police.
Even if the accident seems minor, having an official report can be extremely helpful when dealing with insurance.
4️⃣ Exchange information.
Get the other driver’s:
• Name & phone number
• Driver’s license information
• Insurance information
• License plate number
📸 And take LOTS of photos! Photograph the vehicles from multiple angles, the accident scene, road conditions, traffic signs, and any visible damage.
5️⃣ Be careful what you say at the scene.
Stick to the facts. Avoid admitting fault or making assumptions about what happened.
6️⃣ Contact your insurance company.
Report the accident and ask about the next steps. Remember: you have the right to choose where your vehicle is repaired in many states.
7️⃣ Have your vehicle properly inspected.
⚠️ Damage isn’t always visible from the outside. A vehicle can have hidden structural, suspension, alignment, or safety-system damage even when the exterior doesn’t look too bad.
8️⃣ Call Adam Fisher Auto Body.
We’re a shop that will properly inspect your vehicle, communicate clearly with you, and repair it according to manufacturer and safety standards.
❤️ Most importantly: don’t rush the process.
Your safety comes first. Your vehicle deserves a proper inspection and quality repairs—not just a quick cosmetic fix.
