Here at United Speedometer and Classics, not only do we do Speedometer repairs and overhauls, but we also offer full automotive services, especially keeping your Classic Cars going. We've already completed the first AC job of the season on a 2003 Mercury Marauder, replacing the entire system, Compressor, Accumulator, Dryer. Compressor started to let go about six months ago and finally gave out altogether. As you can see in the pictures, the or***ce tube was completely full of metal, and the flush solution , and rinse was also full of metal pieces.

Here’s a great example of why we recommend rewiring any vehicle that’s 25+ years old.

This 1973 Jeep had already been through several shops and had a variety of work done. As we were wrapping up and getting ready to check the transmission fluid, our technicians went to start it—and immediately noticed the ground wire smoking.

That’s not a small issue. It’s a serious electrical problem that needs to be addressed right away before it puts the entire vehicle at risk.

We’re not trying to be alarmist—this is something we’ve seen time and time again. Owners invest significant money into their builds, sometimes nearing six figures, but overlook the original wiring. Unfortunately, that can lead to catastrophic damage that could have been prevented.

At the end of the day, old wiring isn’t just outdated—it’s a liability.

Our upholstery division has recently undertaken a project involving the rear seat of a 1967 Chevelle. The factory upholstery had started to crack and deteriorate, leading the vehicle's owner to reach out to us for restoration services. We accommodated their request. Both seat frames were thoroughly cleaned and painted, and new custom foam was installed. The project was finished with the installation of the factory cover, as specified by our client. Lastest item up for sale:
Quick fuel Slayer 600 Carburetor, square bore base with electric choke and Vacuum secondary’s. Was sitting on top of a BBC when removed. Possibly needs a kit but it ran fine. Been sitting for a year. Customer decided to sell it.
