💥 FORD F-150 & F-250 PANORAMIC SUNROOF GLASS EXPLOSION 💥

One of the most common calls we receive at Sunroof King is from Ford F-150 and F-250 owners who suddenly hear what sounds like a gunshot while driving down the highway. In many cases, the panoramic sunroof glass has shattered unexpectedly.

Many people don’t realize that a panoramic sunroof is very different from a windshield. A windshield is made of two layers of laminated glass with a safety layer in between. A panoramic sunroof, however, is typically one large piece of tempered glass.

When a small rock strikes a windshield, it usually causes a chip or crack. When that same rock strikes a panoramic sunroof, the entire glass panel can shatter instantly, creating a loud explosion-like noise that can be frightening to the driver and passengers.
