What did you buy in 1973 when you had a wife, two kids, a successful business…and still refused to give up your Ferrari?
The answer: a Ferrari 365 GT4 2+2. The gentleman’s Ferrari for those who needed four seats, but weren’t quite ready for something sensible.
One of just 521 produced, with a 4.4-liter four-cam Colombo-derived V12, gated five-speed manual, knock-off alloys and room for four. Enzo Ferrari reportedly had one himself. (no. 16293)
This early example, chassis 17109, wears silver over black and brings an unusually fascinating paper trail along for the ride.
And then there’s the catch: it’s been sitting. It doesn’t currently run and needs recommissioning.
But underneath the dust is a seriously compelling Ferrari: early production, front-engine V12, gated manual, four seats, great colors, and enough history to keep you digging.
Ferrari for the man who had grown up, but not given up.
