1000hp Crown Vic on 28s Ep 15: In With The New

The old motor gets its respect as it comes out, and the new motor flexes itself into place as it goes in.

After all this time, we are finally passing 3rd and heading towards home plate.
From bare block to now, it's been fun, educational, and frustrating at times. But we are close to seeing if it was all worth it. And if it even works.

1000hp Crown Vic on 28s Ep 14: A 1000hp Fuel System

A fuel system worthy of 1000hp!
We are closer to the 1st start and this fuel system is the next piece of this puzzle.
Big fuel lines, lots of AN fittings, a pre filter, a post filter, and a pump that sounds like a Jedi's lightsaber make up this system that will allow me to race AND drive around on a cruise too.
We took out the factory tank and made the bigger fuel lines work, ran the fuel lines, and got it ready for the engine drop. (Which is coming in the next video.)
There's even a different way of mounting a fuel regulator in this video. Take a look and you might want to try it yourself.

1000hp Crown Vic on 28s Ep 13: Lookin' Like An Engine

Now that theres an oil pan on, the top end is taking shape. We got the push rod lengths in the last video, and the new push rods are in! Time to put them on and move on to the next piece!
system is starting to go on as well and this is starting to look like an engine for sure.
Soon... it'll be time to see if it runs like one too.

1000hp Crown Vic on 28s Ep 12: How to get the correct pushrod length and valvetrain geometry

The Ford #351 is a motor and I've vupgraded mine quite a bit. Of course, my valvetrain needed to be changed as well. New heads, a roller cam, roller , and now pushrods.

This video shows you how to get the correct pushrod length and valvetrain geometry for any pushrod engine.

To get mine right, some things had to come off the old motor and be installed on the new motor so that this could be achieved. It was an all day process but juat the latest step in getting this 1000hp motor ready.

1000hp Crown Vic on 28s Ep. 11: Oil Pan Lessons Pt. 2

The oil pan is finished and on the block...HOPEFULLY THE RIGHT ONE... and we can move on. Of course, it was not without some minor issues, complications, and another trip to the nuts and bolts store.
But now we can move on the the valvetrain and finish out this small block #351 for the Crown Vic

1000hp Crown Vic on 28s Ep 10: Oil Pan Lessons

We have all heard, "measure twice, cut once" or some variation of this proverb, but sometimes we just don't want to do it. This was my time...and I lost a lost of it because I didn't want to move the car, lay down some cardboard, and pull out the tape measure.
The build is coming along nicely, although I wish the Summit store in Texas was in Houston area instead of the Dallas area...that would w**d out waiting on the UPS and FedEx drivers until the estimated ship time of cable guy hours... 8am and 5pm 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣.
Still... I guess there is a lesson to be learned in all builds maybe...
