Coolant in your washer fluid tank on a Mercedes? It might sound impossible, but some Mercedes models have a washer fluid tank heater. If it leaks, engine coolant can mix with the washer fluid.

We found this issue on a 2021 Mercedes-Benz S580 and have also seen it on a Mercedes-Benz GLC 63.

Are OEM parts always the same as genuine parts? The manufacturer’s name on the box doesn’t tell the whole story.

In this video, we compare two Delphi ignition coils and explain how replacement coils kept bringing back the same fault code on one of our Mercedes loaners. Installing the genuine Mercedes coils resolved the issue.

OE means original equipment, while OEM means original equipment manufacturer. But buying a part from an original equipment supplier doesn’t automatically mean it’s identical to the genuine part. This is why we’re selective about the parts we install.

Buying a used engine can save you thousands, but installing it exactly as it arrives can turn into an expensive mistake. Before installation, the engine should be thoroughly inspected and common failure points should be addressed while everything is easily accessible.

Replacing worn seals, mounts, pulleys, and other failure prone components now can help prevent additional labor and unexpected repairs later. If you’re considering a used engine replacement, this is what should happen before it goes into the vehicle.

This 2008 Mercedes CL65 AMG has only 71,000 miles and is powered by a hand built V12 biturbo engine.

These older AMG models are incredible, but they can also become expensive to maintain. The ABC hydraulic suspension, limited engine access, and aging parts can quickly add up. This CL65 is very clean, but it still needs a few important repairs, including an ignition coil, drive belt, and suspension work.

Aftermarket wheels can be a great upgrade, but proper fitment is extremely important. On this Mercedes, incorrect installation damaged the lug bolt holes, turning what should have been a simple wheel install into an expensive hub, wheel bearing, and fl**ge replacement.

We also have another customer who purchased wheels without checking fitment first. They’re too wide, and now spacers may be needed just to make them work.

Before buying aftermarket wheels, make sure the offset, width, hub bore, and hardware are correct. We highly recommend using a shop that specializes in aftermarket wheel fitment.

We’re installing a used M112 engine in this 2005 Mercedes E320 with 190,000 miles. The original engine still ran, but it needed a head gasket and was producing a large amount of smoke from the exhaust. Rather than rebuilding it, the client found a used replacement engine for a little over $1,000.

A used engine is not something we simply install and hope for the best. While everything is accessible, we inspect it thoroughly and address potential problems. We found a cracked intake manifold, so we may reuse the good manifold from the original engine. We’re also replacing gaskets and addressing the ignition coils, spark plugs, oil leaks, and other maintenance items before installation.

This 2008 Mercedes G55 AMG was towed to us from Vermont after it died once it warmed up and would not run. After diagnosing the problem, we found that a failed crankshaft position sensor was preventing it from running.

Once the G55 was running again, we addressed several other concerns, including the spark plugs, parking brake, heated seats, and warning lights. With only 90,000 miles and a supercharged V8, this is still one unique Mercedes. These older G Wagons are rugged, built differently, and have a personality unlike almost anything else Mercedes has made.
