We made the credit union the HERO.
A family walked into a dealership and drove out with a new 2026 Hyundai Venue — financed at 19.27% APR. 78 payments of $570.92. $19,439 in finance charges. Plus an $891 service contract that was already covered by the manufacturer's warranty.
Here's what we did:
- Helped them open and responsibly use a small credit card to build payment history
- Cancelled the unnecessary $891 service contract and secured the full refund
- Made four on-time payments to protect their credit while we worked the refinance
- Refinanced the remaining balance at 5.50% with a local credit union
The new numbers:
- 72 payments of $418.79
- Finance charge: $4,518 (down from $19,439)
- $14,900+ saved in interest
- $152 lower every single month
That's what a true hero-lender looks like. Not the one who sold the high-rate deal — the local credit union that stepped in, cleaned it up, and put real money back in a family's pocket.
Credit can be rebuilt. Bad contracts can be rewritten. And families deserve better than 19% on a brand-new car.
If you're still stuck in a high-rate auto loan, your hero story is still possible.
