🤙🏼Here in Hawaiʻi, even the smallest actions have a big impact. Whether you’re hauling trash, green waste, or debris, the way you load your vehicle matters for safety and for the environment.

Loading with aloha means ensuring everything in your vehicle is secure so items don’t fly away, block roads or storm drains, or hit other vehicles.

Learn more about what you can do to make sure you’re loading with aloha in our recent blog.

True or False: When you’re transporting a large load in a truck, you don’t need to tie down large or heavy items.

Swipe for the answer and remember to load with Aloha!

Not sure if you loaded your truck securely and safely? Use our Load With Aloha checklist to pack it right and haul safe! 🤙🏼

Taking the extra time to check on your next load reduces the chances of debris falling out from your vehicle, becoming a hazard on our roadways, and a source of pollution in our environment.

Sustainability Tip to Load with Aloha ♻️ Try using a tarp to cover your next load! Using a tarp stops fly-away trash like napkins and plastic bags from falling out and getting swept into our storm drains.

Mālama i ka ‘āina. Mālama i ke kai 🌊
Take care of the land. Take care of the ocean 💙

In Hawai‘i, everything is connected. Our kuleana (responsibility) is to protect one to save the other. This National World Oceans Day, join the movement and take the Storm Water Pledge.

Our goal is simple: Keep our streets clean, keep our storm drains clear, and keep our ocean thriving, and keep everyone inspired to make a difference.

Load With Aloha to pack it right and haul safe 🚛📦 Whether you’re moving house or just heading to the beach, how you pack your vehicle matters for our ʻāina. Think of it this way: if it isn't tied down, it's going to fly out of your truck and sit on the road until the next rain washes it into a storm drain and straight to the ocean.

We need your help to keep our roadways and ocean free of pollution! Stay tuned for more tips and details on how you can make a difference in your community.

Memorial Day in Hawai‘i is a beautiful time for remembrance. As we gather with our ‘ohana to honor the brave men and women who served, let’s show our gratitude by protecting the ‘āina (land) and kai (ocean) they loved and defended 🇺🇸🌊
Mālama’s Reminder: Remember that our actions on land have a direct "current" to the ocean.

As communities face growing challenges from climate change, flooding, and water pollution, careers in storm water are becoming more important. Rainwater runoff can carry pollutants from streets and sidewalks into rivers and oceans, harming ecosystems and public health. Effective storm water systems help protect infrastructure, support cleaner waterways and build more resilient communities. A wide range of careers help make this work possible.
