I really don't like when folks rant on Facebook, it never does a bit of good and most of the time it is just a lack of patience that causes the whole thing. My frustration today is the state of our parts supply in our industry. The lack of OE parts available is terrible.
Every day we hear:
That part discontinued or That part is on terminal backorder with no release date. Your cars are held captive daily while we wait for parts. We are both victims, you don't have your car and our reputation goes downhill.
The end result is most of the parts now come from China or somewhere else overseas. That in itself is very troubling. 10 years ago we avoided these parts at all cost, and now we face junking the car or installing Chinese parts and praying they made a good one.
Another problem with cheap parts is high failure rate which means it is not uncommon to get brand new, and expensive parts having a high failure rate. Again you have to bring it back, our reputation suffers. Trust me when I say, every shop in town is going through the exact same thing and we constantly put pressure on the parts suppliers, whose hands are also tied, to hunt down better quality parts. Please realize if you're vehicle is 2016 or older you are already in this category. We will continue to work diligently to do the best work with the best parts available but please be understanding when things do happen, because they will.
We truly appreciate your business and as of next Wednesday we will celebrate 28 years of repairing cars and we couldn't have done it without you all.

This week our customers spoiled us again! Tuesday I was gifted a charm bracelet - and today we got loaded down with homemade blueberry muffins, apple butter bread, date and pecan bread and apple sauce bread! Thank you for your amazing generosity!!!!
