During next week's BTE World Footbrake Challenge - we are celebrating twenty years of the best footbrake race on the planet by awarding four special bolt together torque converters - one to each of the daily main race winners.

Each unit is built with the best Opel type stampings available, 7075-T6 billet covers, steel stators, and configured for optimal bottom bulb racing performance.

These fully functional stylized awards are a representation of our racing legacy going back to the late 1950s - and we're backing these "forever" torque converters with a promise: Any future service or updates to these four unique torque converters will be performed at no cost to the owner - forever. (They are completely transferable, as well.)

This project was both fun and challenging, and I sincerely thank our team members that bought their ideas and efforts to the result: Walter Williams, Shaun West, Jimmy Mod, Lee Rogers, Ralph Tipler, Willie Williams, and Tony Terry. I also want to recognize Echo 5 Tactical and Anchor Yard Metal Polishing: two great, local Mississippi companies that contributed their craftsmanship in providing special coatings and polishing to make these look beautiful.

I look forward to my trip up the mountains of Bristol to award these in person next week.

Our telco is installing a new router, firewall, and phones in our office this morning. We will be completely down until around lunchtime today.

After we return from the World Footbrake Challenge, we will be releasing some new items:

Dump valve kits (internal and external) that are affordable
"Rollerzied" TH400 center supports with OS pistons
Billet full manual TH400 valve bodies
Billet direct pistons and pressure plates

Also, check out these four special bolt together units we are giving away at the 20th BTE World Footbrake Challenge! We will post more details on them next week as we finish their assembly here in Mississippi.

Spring and the racing season have arrived in Mississippi. Our current lead time on new torque converter and transmission builds is roughly three to four working days. We have a number of updates to existing products already rolling out in addition to some new ones. Four special bolt together torque converters will be awarded during this year's BTE World Footbrake Challenge . More details will follow soon here. If you are in need of a new Powerglide housing - reach out to our wholesalers for your shopping needs - we are ready to assist.

The lingering effects of the recent ice storm require us to remain closed a little longer, but we hope to have limited operations going on the 29th.

Please - for at least the time it takes to read this - pull for our team members and neighbors in the local community that remain without power and water services, face scarcity of gas and food, and may be stranded at home without safe roads for travelling to remedy these needs.

We will be closed today, Monday the 26th. Roads remain dangerous in our area and many of our team members are still without electricity. We will return to operations when conditions have improved.

YEAR END UPDATE:

Firstly - thank you to everyone that supported BTE in 2025 - we finished strong this year thanks to your support - and our holiday sale was the best to date. We are wrapping up those final orders on gears and a few transmission builds - everyone still waiting will have parts in hands in the first two weeks of January.

We are closing today for our annual inventory audit, and we will have a couple of days before we arrive at Christmas break. Our team will return just after the new year. If you are with family, working to support them, on a project in the shop, or just working on yourself - may it be a great time for you.

2026 looks to be exciting for drag racing - new race events, new track openings, and also old favorites returning. We are ending some chapters on a few things in 2026, but also opening some new books as well. Look for more updates here just after the first of the year.
