The parts store sold you the parts. Nobody told you it needs a scan tool.

Today’s job was a 2012 Subaru Legacy.

Customer stated rear pads and rotors worn with brake light on and pedal traveling to the floor.

Fluid was low with no obvious visible leak. Topped it off and bled the whole system, however the pedal was still soft.

Upon inspecting the rear driver caliper seal, it was found leaking. That was the cause. Passenger rear caliper was inspected and found in good working condition.

New driver rear caliper, pads and rotors both sides, bled the whole system, firm pedal. Fixed right the first time.
