Big Island Used Cars A Small, Family-Run Dealership šŸš—
No Salesman, No Hassle, No Pressure 🌺
āœļø Text 24/7: 808-559-9185 We’re proud to say that simplicity is our strong suit.

Big Island Used Cars LLC is really just the Perea Ohana -- Don, Michelle, Brandon, and Katherine. It’s what the company is today, what is was when we started it in 2007, and what it always will be. At our dealership customers only work with us, the owners - meaning that we'll handle every purchase with pride, professionalism and most of all, accountability. We’ve personally handled thousands of transactions with the very same people you’ll see in our local grocery stores, movie theatres, and down at the beach. If you're curious about our business, you can always call us or check the reviews section of our page. Or better yet, ask around! It won’t take long for you to talk to someone whose had a great experience buying from Don, Michelle, Brandon, or Katherine. We love this business, love our island, and love using our experience to help people choose the right vehicle for their budget and lifestyle.

Come inspect a potential private-party purchase with me!

I generally avoid certain early-2010s Subarus because of the engine and CVT transmission problems associated with some of their powertrains.

But this one is different.

It’s equipped with Subaru’s 3.6L flat-six and a conventional five-speed automatic transmission.

That’s why knowing the exact engine and transmission matters so much when you’re shopping for used cars.

Unfortunately, even though the major mechanical components seemed promising, this one had enough smaller issues that the repair costs started adding up.

And the AC? Just look at my face. šŸ˜‚

Sometimes the right decision is simply to walk away.

God bless.

I used to tell people NOT to buy black cars. šŸ˜‚

They show every scratch, every speck of dirt, every water spot. And keeping them looking good takes more work.

But somewhere along the way, I completely changed my mind.

A clean black vehicle with tinted windows, black wheels and some tire shine?

I don’t think there’s a better-looking color combination.

This 2015 Toyota 4Runner SR5 4x4 with third-row seating just came in, and it’s exactly what I’m talking about.

I’ve officially become a black-car guy.

Just wash it more. šŸ˜‚

Black’s hot right now. No pun intended.

God bless.

We’re back and better than ever!

Our family pilgrimage gave me a lot to think about, and somewhere along the way I came up with an idea that I’m incredibly excited to bring to Big Island Used Cars.

I genuinely believe this could change the way we’re able to help people in our community.

And the funny thing is, I don’t know why I didn’t do it sooner.

Hoping to launch within 30 days. More details soon!

In the meantime, you guys have kept us BUSY. Before lunchtime today we had already sold and delivered two cars, purchased three, taken another on trade, and lined up more deliveries for later this week.

Thank you for giving my family and me the opportunity to take this time away.

Now back to work!

God bless.

I came to Santa Fe expecting to be impressed by the famous miraculous staircase at Loretto Chapel.

And I was.

But what I wasn’t expecting was how deeply the Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi would affect me.

Sometimes a place moves you in a way you can’t quite explain.

It wasn’t the architecture or the history that stayed with me. It was what happened in my heart, the thoughts I found myself having, and watching my daughter quietly write a prayer.

That’s the kind of experience I was hoping this pilgrimage would bring our family.

And of course, we finished the day with some incredible food at Sawmill Market. šŸ˜‚

New Mexico continues to surprise me.

God bless.

From finding a real-life Mater and getting milkshakes with the kids to visiting one of the most meaningful places I’ve ever been.

El Santuario de Chimayó, New Mexico.

For more than two centuries, pilgrims have come here seeking healing, peace, forgiveness and a deeper relationship with God.

According to local tradition, a crucifix was discovered buried in the earth and repeatedly returned to the place where it was found. A sanctuary was eventually built there.

I came here planning to record everything.

But when we arrived, something changed.

I realized that not everything meaningful needs to be documented. Some experiences are meant to be lived, especially with the people you love.

So I put the camera away.

Whatever your religious background, if you ever find yourself in New Mexico, I encourage you to visit Chimayó.

The dirt isn’t magic. Faith isn’t a guarantee of physical healing. But this is a place where generations of people have brought their suffering, their hopes and their prayers.

And I think there’s something profoundly beautiful about that.

God bless.

The Balloon Fiesta got the last laugh… a 3 a.m. wake-up call šŸ˜‚šŸŽˆ

But watching those balloons lift off right over our heads? Totally worth it. I’m officially okay with driving the school bus now. 🚌

Balloons, family time, Sunday Mass, and a car show afterward. That’s my kind of Sunday. šŸ¤™
