Spring Walleye Season is HERE — Sturgeon Bay is Open for Business! 🎣
The ice finally cleared out of Sturgeon Bay on Thursday, and we hit the water Friday and Saturday trolling for walleyes. Water temps are still frigid — right around 33–34°F — but the walleye bite is starting to wake up.
We’re finding fish right at sunset, running big, slow-rolling crankbaits at 1.1–1.4 mph. The walleyes aren’t committing fully yet — mostly nipping the back of the baits — but once that water warms up just a few degrees, it’s going to be game on.
As for us, we’re purebred Sturgeon Bay guides through and through. We typically launch our season right around April 12–15 and stay exclusively in the Sturgeon Bay and Door County waters. It’s our backyard — we know it well — and we love keeping it that way rather than dealing with the congestion on the Oconto side.
Here’s to a great 2026 spring season! 🥂
We run a multi-boat operation and still have openings if you’re looking to chase trophy walleyes in Sturgeon Bay or Door County this spring. The season is just getting started and we’ll be running hard for the next six weeks.
