Due to lifeguard shortage the pool is only allowing lap swim, water aerobics and adult swim for swimmers over the age of 18 years old.

Highlands pool is currently only open for adult swim, ages 18 and over due to all our lifeguards going back to school or on vacation. The Town of Highlands is currently looking to hire a full-time Head Lifeguard for our Town-Operated Swimming Pool.

An employee in this position serves as a lead lifeguard responsible for the safety and well-being of patrons while visiting the pool. Work involves supervising pool patrons in the pool and on deck, monitoring pool activities, enforcing rules and regulations, rendering first aid, responding to emergencies, and performing water rescues as needed. Work also includes checking visitor pool memberships and collecting entrance fees; assisting with the orientation of seasonal lifeguards to job duties and responsibilities; addressing patron needs and inquiries; performing opening and closing procedures for the pool; testing and recording chemical balances in the water; maintaining cleanliness of the pool deck, bathrooms, and showers and refilling supplies as needed; calculating daily fee totals for deposit and delivering to front desk staff; and serving as lead lifeguard on duty, assisting seasonal and part-time lifeguard staff as needed. Position requires First Aid, CPR and Lifeguard training certifications.

Desired Requirements - Graduation from high school supplemented by lifeguard experience, preferably some supervisory lifeguard experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Special Requirements

Possession of American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Certification.

Possession of American Red Cross Community First Aid and CPR for the Professional Rescuer.

Full Time- 40 Hours Week, Sunday -Thursday -12:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m..

Hiring Salary: $35,165.00 - $56,26.00

Highlands Pool will be closed again tomorrow, Tuesday, April 21st. When the wind gusts increased today the DynaDome crew had to come off the roof for there safety. Hopefully the wind will lay down tonight and they can finish the project tomorrow. sorry for any inconvenience. Staff.
