Actually it is not fair not to tell the whole story with a special shout out the Kellers Service Station and Chris. My 2 Boy Scouts and myself were simply doing community service helping out Cocoa Packs. When I saw the lady in distress I really was just going to look to see if I could help her ( like me doing surgery, no experience). I saw it was sown thing to do with antifreeze and a hose so I did not really think it was a big deal. But for her if was life. No car, no picking up her child at day care, ‘maybe losing her job at the Med Center. So I said to myself “self with your connections maybe you can help. I called the local service station I have been doing business with for 19 years, mind you it was 430 and asked for help. I said I could probably get the car there and if they could just look at it maybe it was no big deal to help or I could pay for the part etc. the response was “ we don’t have enough time for our paying customers so it is something we cannot do”. Yes I was shocked but I am not malicious so I will not name names cause something like this could hurt their business and it was their choice wow no is ok. It was not like asking for a gift card. It was a real human in desperate need of help. I knew she had no money, no resources and was basically in a pure survival situation. How can you walk away from that.? Good luck, I hope it all works out? I don’t think so. So I took the risk and drove to this gas station, Kellers who I never met before ( always loved that Morrison Hotel neon sign). I have told Chris (owner) the story, thinking he might tell me the same thing but he looked up the part, told me the price and said he would have it fixed today I then picked up the lady’s child at day care and drove them home . I got the call today picked it up and drove it to the lady at work. Kellers also discounted the bill by a substantial amount and took 1/2 in a gift card from Feniccis. So I started the ball rolling but Kellers is the only reason this lady has a car and can get around in the town that she has only called home for 2 months. I will keep her anonymous out of respect. I love when the community pulls together. It’s just heartwarming all around. Thank you. Click below to see the original post by Cocoa Packs
