Preparing the ‘73 Colorado 2002Tii for some new sheet metal sourced by ; quarters, outer rockers, parcel tray, trunk floor and tail panel! We also 3D scanned the driver floor so we can print out a stamping die for the sheet metal that isn’t available on the passenger side! We will make a post on that later.

The Werks - Cross Country Roadtrip

After ~2.5y building the “520r” for Brian it came time to deliver it back to him, as attached to the project that I became it was only right to deliver it myself. We set off to Chicago to meet up with Jackie Ding and his crew, after some race tweaks from Chris, we headed over to Autobahn Country Club where Jackie took the car out on the South Circuit and did a 1:33 lap time and John took some amazing shots of the car. Spent the next few days being shown around Chicago, the food it has to offer and amazing hospitality by John, his family and his friends, thank you guys! Next I had a “short” jaunt over to Cedar Rapids to hang out and brain storm some new and exciting things at Angry Ass with Greg and Nate. They also showed me amazing hospitality and made me feel like part of their family. Now with driving buddies we headed out from Cedar Rapids in the morning for our first leg on our way to LA and stopped in Denver and crashed at Nate’s place. Then for even more elevation change we stopped in Flagstaff the following night to rest for an early morning departure. About 2:30 Friday we made it to LA and had a chance to breathe.. enjoyed the SoCal Vintage the next day and talking with people about the car. Sunday everyone parted ways as I stayed in Agoura Hills for another day waiting to drive up to San Jose with Brian and his family. Another “short” drive up to the Bay Area and the “520r” was sitting in Brian’s driveway. Some more amazing food (that was a theme during this trip) and a good night’s rest, Brian and I grabbed some coffee before I headed back eastward, home to my Girls!

These are memories I’ll never forget and I want to thank every single person new friend or old that made it what it was. This trip was a testament to how close the car community is and how open their arms are.

Some recent metal work on our ‘73 2002Tii restoration project for Mr. Greene. We have some more work to do to finish out the tunnel and lower firewall sheet metal since those aren’t available as patch panels but we’re moving right along with it!

Thank you for producing the part MVP but we’re going to stick with a factory look here. Details on the nose of the ‘73 2002Tii before the engine bay gets blasted and we weld it back on!

Thank you to everyone that came and spoke with us ! We had a blast and were overwhelmed by the kind words and attention that received. Thank you to the guys for hosting us in their tent as well. Over roughly the last 2 years Nate and I have put our heart and soul into this vehicle for Brian. As things slow down after the show we want to thank each and every person that has kept us, almost literally, afloat this past year. The rest of ‘25 and ‘26 are going to be huge.

This past week we busted out a quick single 3” 304ss exhaust for Mike’s e82 128i track-car! “Active Autowerke” catless headers, dual 2” -> 3” 15° merge, vibrant resonator, vibrant dual tip muffler. Waiting to load the 22rpd tune and then we will get some sound clips!

As most of you guys know we have been heavily affected here in WNC by hurricane Helene. Some people have lost everything and we would love to help our neighbors… so each hoodie purchase will also include a donation of a sweatshirt. We will be donating these to a local fire department to be distributed to people in need.

Multiple people have asked us for a way to help, and many have helped us in person here at the shop. 26 days after Helene devastated WNC we’re still picking up the pieces. With that being said the costs of start-up are quickly adding after losing almost all of our tools, etc.. I’ve never asked for anything before but my Zelle is attached to [email protected]. Anything helps even just some encouraging words, thoughts and prayers, etc… we truly have the best customers and we look forward to getting back to work and for this to just being a story in the history of building our business. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the out reach, concern and love shown to us this past week. Everyone is safe but not without loss, this will be a long process and we will be closed to new clients until further notice.

Recently alongside we have acquired this ‘92 850i with quite the interesting (if you want to call it that..) history! This will be one of our new chassis for development and we’re excited to roll some things out with our friends . Paint is on the short list with an exhaust system and transmission stuff coming in the future.
