MEET MEGAN — AKA “THE WIFE” ❤️

Every shop has someone behind the scenes keeping things from completely falling apart.

At Urban Auto Workz, that’s Megan.

Official title: HR
Actual job description: Nurse. Dog Mom. Therapist. Wife. Voice of Reason. Zach Management. 😂

When she’s not dealing with the personalities and chaos that come with an automotive shop, Megan has a career of her own as an O.R. nurse—which means she spends her days taking care of people and somehow still has enough patience left to deal with all of us.

She’s also a devoted dog mom, unofficial therapist to anyone who needs it, and the person who has been beside me while we’ve built not only Urban Auto Workz, but our life together.

Around the shop, her hours are pretty simple:

24/7 — keeping Zach in line. 😂

A lot of what customers see at Urban Auto Workz happens because of the technicians and front-counter team. But there are also people behind the scenes who help keep the business, the team—and sometimes the owner—moving in the right direction.

Megan is a big part of that.

MEET THE OWNER — ZACH

aka " Shop Daddy”

I’ve been working on cars since I was **15 years old**, and apparently I never grew out of it.

I started professionally as a **l**e tech at GM**, then headed to North Carolina in 2006 to attend **NASCAR Technical Institute**.

After school, I went to work for **Mercedes-Benz in Fort Pierce, Florida**, where I had the opportunity to learn from some of the best drivability techs in the shop. That’s where I really developed my diagnostic skills and my obsession with figuring out **why** something failed instead of just throwing parts at it.

In **2009**, I moved to Las Vegas and continued working for **Mercedes-Benz in Henderson**.

Then in **2014**, I decided fixing cars wasn't enough stress and became a shop owner. 😂

That eventually became the **Urban Auto Workz** you see today.

Around here, they call me **“Cool, Not Practical.”**

And if you know me, it makes perfect sense.

I like **V8s, HEMI power, fast cars, motorcycles and loud music.** I own a **lifted HEMI-swapped Dodge Dakota**, because a normal truck would've been far too practical. I also have a race car that I swear I'll eventually finish so I can get back to drifting.

These days, you'll find me doing a little bit of everything—**leading the team, marketing, recruiting, diagnosing difficult cars, chasing performance, putting out fires and figuring out what we're doing next.**

Outside the shop, I'm married to my amazing wife **Megan**, we have **two awesome dogs**, and we've built a beautiful home and life together.

I've gone from a 15-year-old kid turning wrenches to owning a business and building a team around something I've spent most of my life doing.

And apparently my decision-making process still hasn't changed:
