Schroeder Truck Repair provides mobile truck repair service for semi-trucks and specialty car haulers in Denver, and Northern Colorado.

Schroeder Truck Repair is a family owned semi-truck repair shop in Denver Colorado. We originally opened our doors in 1991 as Schroeder Auto Carriers. Our shop was famous for the quality of work that we performed and our fabrication skills. In the late 1990’s Schroeder decided to get out of the auto-hauling business and hang it up. Our reputation however wouldn’t allow us to stay out of it for long. After much demand we re-opened in 2001 as Schroeder Truck Repair. What we thought would be a small repair shop just kept growing and growing because of our quality and reputation. We welcome you to come down and check us out and see our quality for yourself.

🚛📈 TRUCKING TONNAGE IS UP. BUT IS THE FREIGHT MARKET FINALLY TURNING A CORNER?

After a sluggish summer, the trucking industry is showing some signs of life.

According to the latest report from the American Trucking Associations (ATA), truck freight tonnage increased 0.8% in September 2026, following a 0.2% decline in August.

That's encouraging news, but there's more to the story.

🚛 Year-to-date: +0.9%
⚠️ The reality: Freight demand remains soft, even as trucking capacity continues to shrink.

With fewer trucks competing for available freight, market conditions may be improving for carriers. But we're not exactly looking at a freight boom just yet.

🚛 A major change to federal drug testing for the trucking industry just moved one step closer.

The FDA has finalized an order removing a key regulatory hurdle that has delayed the use of oral-fluid drug testing in federally regulated transportation.

Why does it matter?
Unlike traditional urine testing, oral-fluid collection can be directly observed, making specimen substitution and tampering significantly more difficult. It could give motor carriers another tool for maintaining safe, drug-free operations.

⚠️ One important detail: This does not mean fleets can start using oral-fluid testing for DOT tests today. DOT requirements still call for at least two HHS-certified laboratories capable of conducting the testing before employers can begin using it. Still, this is an important step toward modernizing drug testing in the trucking industry.
