Update on the Stratosphere X-Scream, we have all but 3 seat bases left to paint. They are still in inspection due to repairs and welding certifications.
I received a call from the President of Operations and was invited to the unveiling once it is all back together and passes inspection. I was pleasantly impressed by his kind words when he told us, "I can't believe how well this project turned out. Your crew really went above and beyond, and I never would have guessed it could have looked this good." You could hear the gratitude in his voice, and that really made my day!
One of the issues we encountered was we had to repair an area the inspectors tagged where both of the middle sections join at. According to them, there was a small gap that was concerning for small children to get their fingers stuck in, so we reworked the fiberglass and made it "air tight." The Director could not believe how well that came out, and how it blew his expectations away.
For something that is over 15 years and has had multiple repairs and paint jobs, it looks as good or better then it did when new. One more thing to add to the oddities and unique requests we receive being a Body Shop in Las Vegas!
