Merc chop pretty much wrapped up.

Currently just into primer for now.

Customer is ordering a new chassis & swapping engines in the MEANTIME..

If you happened to visit the Hector City Cemetery over Memorial Day weekend, you may have noticed an upgrade to the entrance sign.

Over the winter, Dennis built a new sign for the entrance.

I (Dane) designed and drew the map/sign graphic, and had Cole Carlson at Creative Details print it.

More recently, Ryan Kramer, with help from Jason Lange, removed the old landscaping, prepared the concrete pad and sidewalk, and mounted the sign in preparation for Memorial Day weekend. (More landscaping to follow.)

Would like to share a couple posts…..

The 1932 Ford built by Gray’s Garage that the Rambler competed with / against in Chicago (which was also picked as a “Select Six) just won GoodGuys “Hot Rod of the Year” award in Nashville, TN.

Congrats to them! This also makes me very proud and humbled to know that we were nose to nose with some GREAT cars in Chicago!

Windshield posts are easy…..b-pillars / qtr. windows a little more difficult (but not as difficult as the rear window / roof…..but that’s a bit down the road yet)

Took today to cut up the original post, set it in at the correct angle (per my photoshop design) then started fabricating the new qtr. glass opening radiuses. I’m happy with the look so far, so that’s a plus!👍🏻

I’m going to be away for a while, so no further progress for a bit…..

1950 Mercury, this project will be done in stages. Currently I will only be chopping the top (into rough bodywork and primer) then the customer will take it back so he can do stuff that he wants to do.

First photo is as it came in.

Second photo is a photoshop….I did to make sure the customer and myself both have the same mental vision of what he likes (so I’ll try to duplicate that photoshop as good as I can)
