Marvin Edward Pugh, age 78, of Hazard, KY, passed away on Monday, September 28, 2026, at Hazard Medical Center. Marvin loved the Lord, and his faith was a meaningful part of the way he lived and cared for others. He was a great help to many people through his early years of teaching at M.C. Napier, through coaching, and through his love and passion for the Lord. The time and care he gave to others touched many lives.
Marvin lived a long, full life and was loved by those who knew him. He will be greatly missed by so many.
He was the son of the late Lewis Daniel Pugh Sr. and Mallie Stubblefield Pugh. He is also preceded in death by Two Sisters: Nancy Martin & Betty Joyce Bussey and Four Brothers: Lewis Jr, Claude, Teddy Lee & Larry Lester Pugh.
He is survived by his wife: Karen Pugh; Three Daughters: Sherry Wooton, Marla Kestner (Kenneth) & Jayden Pugh (Brayden); Two Sons: Michael Buck Wooton (Margo) & Izaiah Pugh; One Sister: Patricia Moore; Two Brothers: John Wayne Pugh (Sandra) & Jim Pugh (Judy); Eight Grandchildren: Makayla (John), Heaven (Dalton), Mia, Kenton Michael, Kristen, Brooklynn (Matt), Brayden (Hayley) & Gavin; Three Great Grandchildren: Noah, Adam & Bubby; Special Friends: Wade & Pam Noble & Fred Barnett and A Host of Nieces, Nephews, Family & Friends.
Arrangements are being handled by Maggard's Mtn. View Chapel where the family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, September 30, 2026. Funeral service will be at Maggard's Mtn. View Chapel at 1:00 PM, Thursday, October 1, 2026, Manuel Grace officiating. Interment will be at Balis Napier Cemetery, Lotts Creek, KY.
