Looks like spring is here, maybe a few snow showers this week. Daylight savings time is here, hopefully the last time we have time changes! Wishful thinking!
Duo to lack of snowpack this year looks like we better get the fly rods out early before the streams dry up on us. I would assume that the fire danger will be very high this year, we need to make sure that we have our ax, buckets and shovels handy just in case.
We also need to make sure our vehicles and ATV"s are ready before we head out to the woods this summer. Shure would not like to be the guy that starts a forest fire!
On another note, do you suppose mushrooms will be out early this year, and how do you think the huckleberries will fare?

Well, so much for a cold and snowy winter so far! Today we have 60+ mph wind gusts that are creating havoc, loss of power and downed trees. We have had a lot of wind before in Hayden, but not like this!
Next week is Christmas, and I suppose alot of you will be traveling for the holidays. We have had several battery failures as the temps drop, you may want to stop by Blue Oval for a free battery test before you head out on your trip, adds to piece of mind knowing that you will make it to grandmas house on time for dinner!
The Blue Oval team will be off for the holidays December 24th, 25th, 26th, and of course January 1st.

Another Summer behind us, looking forward for a nice Fall. I know, I do not post as often as I should have! Hunting season is upon us, and maybe I will get to take my riffle for a hike. Hope to get some fall fishing in as well.
Again, before you head out to the woods this fall, you should have your truck checked over to ensure a nice pleasant experience, As I have towed some hunters out of the woods, and many of my friends have had to be towed to our shop as their vehicles were not prepared for the sometimes harsh weather!
A reminder that a thorough check over for what ever vehicle you take into the woods, could make the difference of a good trip, or a bad experience!
Blue Oval is ready to check over your ride, and make recommendation's if needed. At this time we have openings available any time, just give Cindy or myself a call and we are ready to assist all of your automotive needs!

Just a day away from catching up with friends and relatives, and enjoying the well prepared food that goes along with Thanksgiving!
Blue Oval will be closed Thursday and Friday for the holiday. Cindy and I as well as our crew, wish you all a "Happy Thanksgiving". And if you are traveling be safe!

It has been a busy year, with all the yard work, pruning trees, having asphalt laid to replace old concrete sidewalk, and had a great garden this year that needed alot of care.
Of course the shop was just as busy, I am fortunate to have a great crew that can take care of business when I am not around. After 37 years as a mechanic my bones have alot of pains. I have moved into a semi-retirement position and depend on the guys in the shop to take up my work load.
Cindy and I are fortunate to have Scott, David, and Cody in the shop, and Cindy and Jana at the front desk!
I have attached a picture of Cody cleaning out a dead varmint from a heater with a annoying odor that will make you laugh, (maybe not as much as we did).
Thanks for all your support, and patience! We have a great customer base, and they are great friends!

Now that the smoke has cleared, and the heat has backed off, the kids back to school, we can try to return to a somewhat normal schedule again. Has been a very busy and hectic summer season, as I am sure you can agree! Now that fall is in the air, and hunting season is upon us, we need to make sure our trucks are ready for offroad use, such as oil changes and fuel filters replaced, tire pressure and tread depth checked, check all fluids and condition of fluids. Perform a visual multipoint inspection to see if anything else needs attention before you head to the woods.
We have a new addition to our staff, his name is Cody George and has completed one year of diesel training at KTEC, and is currently taking his second year of training to get hiss AAS degree. Cody has hit the ground running and is doing a great job. My hope is for Cody to take my place as I am getting tired and need to retire soon.
I am thankful to have a great crew that takes pride in their work and can take over when Cindy and I our out of the office.

Blue Oval Speed Shop wishes all of our friends and family a very Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year!
Over this last year we have been blessed with patients from our friends as we have suffered growing pains that have been hard to overcome. Have added help to our front office so as Cindy not so grouchy when I get home, and have a couple of great technicians in our shop (myself not included) that are very professional and take pride in their work.
Have also had a very hard time getting parts due to shortages that delay repairs for months.. We hope that 2023 will be a better year.
We appreciate all of our friends and wish you the very best into the new year!
