Our customer wanted a little more….pep….to his work truck so he added some Long tube headers!
Man this thing sounded great! But wasn’t running optimally.
When we add breather mods to a vehicle what we are doing is improving airflow through the engine a.k.a increasing Volumetric Efficiency. Extra airflow = improved VE. The ecu doesn’t know we’ve improved airflow, it just sees more air and adjust as much as it can, but it’s not optimal.
Not a problem, we strapped this 5.3 LT to our dyno, gave it a little G.A.S. and extracted almost 50whp and 60 ftlbs of torque from this work truck!

He used to be 15 mins early to work, now he’s 20 mins early!! lol.
