Friends of the Lighthouse, we need to talk. Sometime around 2008 we were force fed epa and mileage requirements over the coming years. Manufacturers had to find ways to shed weight and still provide the creature comforts you demanded. Theres only one way to do both. They started lessening the materials utilized in moving components. They had no choice. Same legislation made Kei cars illegal. So you couldn't buy a cheap small light high mpg vehicle but mfgs had to get higher mpg. Seems unfair. Well now your late model vehicles DEMAND regular maintenance. We have in recent weeks been the unfortunate deliverer of bad news to late model vehicle owners like never before. Lack of maintenance, and what is now increased maintenance, causes premature and often catastrophic failure. We hate it as much as you do. Gone are the days of buying a new(er) vehicle so you dont have to do maintenance and repairs. The truth of the times are you need to stay on top of the maintenance. We are here for you. And we hate delivering the news.
