Elsie: the Last Call service car

1954 Meteor Pontiac Funeral Service Car. This Service Car was built during an interesting transitional time for the Meteor Motor Car Company.

It had served Hicks Funeral Home in Frederick MD till the 1970s. Quite possibly the last of it's kind.

Had a chance to get back to The Lucky Spot restaurant this morning for breakfast. Its usually a busy place, but today we were 'lucky' enough to park right out front. If you're ever in Hanover and want a unique breakfast/lunch option in a vintage eatery, check this place out. 👍🏻

What an amazing day! We started off with attending Salem Christian Church’s 10th Annual Car, Truck and Motorcycle Show. We've been wanting to do this show for years now and finally made it. After it was over we popped into The Baker's Cauldron for some delicious sweet treats on our way to Crabbs Tropical Treat for the Hanover Street Rod Association Inc cruise in. We are so appreciative that the treat picked our car! Ended the night with some tacos and a margarita.

August's Mohnton Professional Car Club meetup took place at Mount Olivet cemetery in Frederick MD. Large historic grounds with headstones dating back to the late 1700's. There's a very good possibility that this wasn't Elsie's first visit there. Hicks Funeral Home operated just a few blocks away. We actually had a curious local drive thru while we were there and mentioned the funerals of some of her relatives were done by the Hicks F.H.
We walked the grounds a while and after a bit had our club meeting and then a late lunch afterwards. Good times with great people and beautiful weather!

Today we cruised over to Gettysburg for a bit. We stopped at the recently reopened Distelfink Ice Creamery. Found out that like Elsie, its been around since 1954. Located North of Gettysburg on the old Route 15. Glad to see another local place of history get a new life. Finished out the night with a bath for our club gathering tomorrow in Frederick MD

Gotta take 'the ghoul car' when you go out for a bite. 😁 Was nice enough to sit outside tonight.
While eating, a paranormal investigator approached us and asked if we've had any 'activity'. We stated that... "Nope, its been pretty quiet". ☺️

Almost forgot to share our lunchtime stop earlier today. It's the oldest diner we've eaten in to date. Built in 1935, it's a rare surviving O'Mahony diner. It's currently a thriving Mexican restaurant known as Taco Mar. Food & service were top notch. It's a win-win for us! Jason likes his diners, and Krissy likes her tacos. If you're traveling Rt 30 thru Frazer, stop in & check it out!

Here's just a few of our favorite pics from yesterday's Mohnton Professional Car Club car show at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Philadelphia. Despite a little wet weather at the end, we had a blast. So much to take in at this event, and it just keeps getting better each year. If you're in the area and have a professional car, consider making plans to join us next year!
