Ability to make proper machine settings based on product specifications for set-ups and production run
Read & follow manufacturing orders, control plans, SOP’s, safety requirements
Inspection of product going into and out of process
Support and maintain the world class manufacturing system (including 6S, Kaizan, waste, safety, SMED, Kanban, and mistake-proofing)

Determine product needed by reviewing Kanban or schedule.
Monitor and communicate hour by hour line performance to ensure effective schedule ex*****on.
Ensure safety, 6S, and quality standards are met for line.
Monitor and coordinate material availability to ensure effective schedule management.
Coordinate machine operator and line operator assignments to meet part specific standard work requirements and ensure production schedules are met.
Immediately report any unsafe act or condition.
Promote teamwork through effective motivation and respect for each team member.

Ensure safety in die repair area
Adjustments, improvements, and repairs to ensure proper function of dies and tooling.
Preventive maintenance of dies and tooling.
Support stamping production line setup. Troubleshoot Die and Tooling related issues while remaining on call during production runs.
Recording of work completed and communication of open issues.
Workplace organization and housekeeping.

Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities Required for Consideration as a Candidate:

High School graduate or equivalent
5 years’ experience as a Journeyman Tool / Die Maker / Repairer
Various Machining Equipment, lathe, mill, hand tools experience
Hand working of trim and form steels

Additional Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

Metal Stamping knowledge including press and feeder systems
Knowledge of liner transfer systems and end of arm tooling
Welding, including tig welding of hardened tool steels
Mathematics
Computer experience

Maintains production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment are effective.

Resolve safety issues on all equipment.
Repair equipment failure (downtime).
Determine root cause failures and alleviate issues on assigned equipment.
Record all unscheduled down time on equipment in designated Hydra system.
Communicate usage, needs and sourcing of components.

Strong mechanical maintenance background.
Comprehensive knowledge of TPM (Total Preventive Maintenance).
Must demonstrate ability to perform root cause analysis and possess excellent trouble shooting skills in high pressure environment.
3-5 years of work experience is required as a minimum
Computer skills are a must – Word, Excel, CMMS

Job Summary:

The Quality Inspector will provide part inspection, data collection, and coordinate inspection activities across all three shifts. This job function is expected to review the Quality Hold Area daily and manage the timely sort/rework activities necessary for the timely ex*****on of the disposition within 24 hours when possible. The Quality Inspector will coordinate with production leader to ensure production sorting labor is utilized efficiently, have the proper instructions and supplies. The Quality Inspector will record sort results as directed by the Quality Engineer or Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Complete and record all steps of the Quality Inspection/rework instructions under the guidance of the Quality Engineer for each part going through the Inspection Area.
Review quality alerts, corrective actions, and containment activities. Ensure that instructions for inspection or rework is understood and followed by the production associates working in the area.
Serve as an active 8D team contributor, assisting in identifying root cause(s), permanent corrective action and preventative measures (mistake/error-proofing). Provide root-cause and corrective action reports.
Report nonconforming product (i.e. Holding, Disposition, daily reporting). Assist in the development of inspection criteria and standards, and identifying and submitting changes and corrections where needed.
Report nonconforming product (i.e. Holding, Disposition, daily reporting.)
Conduct operator training: quality alerts, proper use of gage according to instructions, product inspection according to the inspection check sheet, and any other quality-related training as assigned.
Provide immediate feedback to team leaders, Quality Engineering and management regarding compliance issues as directed.
Provide disposition of nonconforming or suspect material per guidelines from Quality Engineering.
Serve as an active participant in LSS programs that promote continuous improvement.
Must adhere to all company and location policies and safety rules.
Must be able to work extended hours when required.
This job function will occasionally be required to support other shifts and should be flexible enough to move across shifts to provide training.
May be required to perform receiving inspection on purchased components or outside process materials.
Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities Required for Consideration as a Candidate:

High school, GED or equivalent experience.
Must be able to read and understand English.
Have the knowledge of manufacturing and quality concepts in accordance with Lydall TS16949 quality system.
Have the ability to demonstrate proper use of inspection gauges and equipment according to gage instructions:
Have the ability to demonstrate the proper inspection methods for parts and the completion of the inspection check sheet for all attributes.
Possess strong communication skills.
Have the ability to actively participate in cross-functional teams and effectively interact with its members.
Computer knowledge with experience using Microsoft Word and Excel programs.
Additional Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

Associates degree in a technical or mathematical field preferred.
Receiving inspection and use of calipers, micrometers and travel indicators
