President Donald Trump has reached his highest approval rating among Republican voters in three months, according to a new CBS News and YouGov survey released this week. The poll, conducted January 14 to 16, found that 90% of Republicans approve of Trump’s job performance, marking his strongest support within the party since early fall.

Overall approval among all U.S. adults stands at 41%, with 59% disapproving, unchanged from December. Approval among independent voters measured 31%. The survey comes ahead of the one year anniversary of Trump’s return to office and reflects steady Republican backing despite flat national numbers.

The poll found that nearly six in ten Republicans say Trump has exceeded expectations in his second term. “Most Republicans say Trump has done more than expected,” the survey noted. At the same time, economic concerns remain prominent. About 74% of respondents said the administration has not done enough to lower prices, and 75% said their income is not keeping up with inflation.

Recent CBS News polling shows Republican approval rising since October, even as overall approval softened slightly nationwide. The findings have been welcomed by GOP allies, while critics point to persistent inflation concerns as a political vulnerability heading into the year ahead.
