Gulf Coast Rods Classic Car Specialists, late model engine/powertrain(fuel injected) swaps ex. LSx, LTx, modification After graduation of St. Thanks for looking!

A little about me, Hello I am Adam Monteleone, I named Gulf Coast Rods in 2002 while I was in high school. Thomas Aquinas High School in 2004, I attended Universal Technical Institute in Houston, TX, where I graduated with a 4.0GPA and 100% attendance. After completion of school I took all my ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) tests and became Master ASE Certified in 9 fields of the automobile. A

s times change and vehicles evolve, I must stay current, so every 5 years I must retest. About GCR, when I came up with a name in 2002, I never thought it would grow as it has. We specialize in classic car repair, restorations, and just about anything. We also perform late model repairs, air conditioning repairs and have all the tools to make some components of the AC system including our own AC lines, what we don't stock we can get soon! We have done extensive metal work, quarter panel replacement, rust repair, late model fuel injection engine swaps, performance upgrades, exhaust upgrades, forced induction, lowering and lift kits, audio installations... and the list goes on. Electrical and wiring is our specialty, we aren't scared, the more wires the merrier! All connections are soldiered and heat shrunk, NO CRIMP CONNECTIONS, as they are always questionable. I will post the actual website when its fully up and running. I will also be updating as time allows, there are many stories and 100's of photos that will eventually make their way here.

Well here's the culprit, lifter collapsed, making the push rod come out of the lifter, then jamming against the inside of the head.
For those that know about the AFM (Active Fuel Management), it has been tuned out of this Denali for a couple of years before this happened, in other words the only REAL way to do the delete is to suck it up and do the mechanical delete as well as the tune. This will ensure you'll have a trustworthy engine. FYI everyone I've done the deletes on have gained MPG usually 2-3 MPG average, running on all 8 cylinders all the time vs the V8 to V4 switching, from the factory to save fuel. Thanks EPA for causing this nightmare for peopleπŸ™„
To top it off, to whomever worked on this engine before cough...cough..(dealership)... why couldn't you just use the correct length bolt on this intake, instead of using a nut to make up the difference...and yet it still didn't work, the nut turns freely. (See finger points)

Another one bites the dust! A 6.2L this time. Time for some LS7 lifters...and a full mechanical & tune delete of the AFM/DOD... I won't even get into what the 8 speed transmission is doing at this point smh.

Finished up another lift kit on a GM truck over the weekend, this Z71 Chevy Tahoe received a Rough Country 3.5" lift. It was a great quality lift with THICK heavy gauge 1/4" steel, for every part of the lift. Was very impressed.

While installing the lift we found the front driver side axle seal leaking, which we replaced with a factory AC Delco (GM) seal, as always. This seal was an updated version of the old seal, so it shouldn't leak ever again!

The owner complained that the Stabilitrak and ABS lights were on, on the dash. Upon reading the computer with the Tech II, it showed that the left front wheel speed sensor was the culprit, looking at the pictures you can see why! This recently replaced front wheel bearing's reluctor ring was caked with grease, in turn not allowing the sensor to read properly. So this was also addressed by cleaning with a solvent and blowing the grease and solvent out with compressed air. It took about 3 to 4 times, to get it fully cleaned!

Thank you J Watson, for being a repeat customer over and over again πŸ‘πŸ»

I was honored to be asked to help out on a 2nd, near exact color, LS swap, 1961 Impala "Bubbletop"! The 1st had a LS1. The 2nd one, shown above, received Chevrolet Performance LS3 engine mated to a 4L70E, these new packages are called Connect and Cruise. Designed specifically for classic vehicles, but can be put in ANYTHING. This car resides in LaPlace, and it's not the 1st or 2nd road call I've had...so its seems we've gone mobile too. More pictures and details to follow! Tks

Classic Car Specialists, Late Model Powertrain Swaps and MUCH more. If you've brought your car to multiple shops to get the same thing fixed, but you only got messed around... we can fix it, or steer you in the best direction. Also, now making select "house calls" for more minor repairs! As always, we NEVER throw parts at a broken vehicle, it's always properly diagnosed, cleared with you, then repaired. ALL of our electrical wiring is soldered and heat shrunk, to give you and I peace of mind(for those who dont know, it's like welding the wires together vs using butt Joint crimp connectors... that the wires can fall out of) We also specialize in AC repair and installations, we use the same RobinAir machine the dealerships use, so you get accurate fills and no wasted freon. Our shop is also climate controlled for the best working conditions for us and moisture free for your vehicle.
