HAGERSTOWN TRAFFIC ADVISORY: East Avenue (Sept. 1 & 2)
Beginning at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 1, East Avenue will be closed to through-traffic between Potomac Street and Mulberry Street while work crews from Comcast install overhead wires along a portion of East Avenue.
Drivers approaching the closure will be required to detour via other City streets, and will encounter cones, barricades, detour signs and other traffic control devices. The work is expected to be completed and the street reopened to traffic by 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday. This same closure will be repeated on Wednesday, Sept. 2.

TRAFFIC ADVISORY: East Avenue (Sept. 1 & 2)

Work crews from Comcast will be installing overhead wires along a portion of East Avenue. In order to give the contractor space to perform the work, a temporary street closure is required.

Therefore, beginning at 9:00 AM on Tuesday, September 1st, East Avenue will be closed to through- traffic between Potomac Street and Mulberry Street. Motorists approaching the closure will be required to detour via other City streets, and will encounter cones, barricades, detour signs, and other traffic control devices. It is anticipated that the work will be completed, and the street reopened to traffic, by 2:30 PM on Tuesday. This same closure will be repeated on Wednesday, September 2nd.

Emergency vehicles will not be able to pass through this section of East Avenue while the closure is in effect.

Beginning at 8 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 27, Willard Street will be closed to through-traffic between Jefferson Boulevard and East Franklin Street, and Liberty Street will be closed to traffic between Cleveland Avenue and Willard while work crews repair water main valves at the intersection of Willard and Liberty.
Drivers approaching the work area will be required to detour via other City streets and should expect to encounter cones, barricades, detour signs and other traffic control devices.
The work is expected to be completed and the streets reopened to traffic by 4 p.m. Thursday.

Work crews from the City’s Water Division will be repairing water main valves at the intersection of Willard Street and Liberty Street. In order to perform the work, temporary street closures will be required.

Therefore, beginning at 8:00 AM on Thursday, August 27th, Willard Street will be closed to through-traffic between Jefferson Blvd. and E. Franklin Street, and Liberty Street will be closed to through-traffic between Cleveland Avenue and Willard Street. Motorists approaching the work area will be required to detour via other City streets, and should expect to encounter cones, barricades, detour signs, and other traffic control devices. It is anticipated that the work will be completed, and the street reopened to traffic, by 4:00 PM.

Beginning at 7 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 21, South Potomac Street will be closed to through-traffic near the railroad crossing at Howard Street while crews repair of a pavement depression.
A detour route will be posted to direct northbound and southbound traffic around the closure. Drivers approaching the closure should expect to encounter cones, barricades, detour signs and other traffic control devices.
The work is expected to be completed and the street reopened to traffic by 3 p.m.
