Holey Moley version of our skid plate shipped off to serve duty in AZ. The 23 dimple died holes vs 7 on our standard skids, which reduces weight approximately 1/2 lb and just looks bad ass.

Made about 120-mile highway trip today 18.7mpg 60miles there and 19 mpg on 68 mile return. My previous all-time best was 18.5mpg in June of last year. Grille blocks definitely make a difference. More aeromods on the way.

For reference, this van is 4x4, 1.25" lift, 30"x9.50 allterrains. The 1.5" bottom lip of the front bumper has been cut off, and the center opening is cut, both of which are likely hurting mileage some compared to factory bumper cover.

You know you're old when....
Can you spot the aeromods on the front of Large Marge? Details for making your own free or very cheaply. Now armed with a Magnahelic gauge, we can get some pressure differential comparisons and maybe dial this in to be even better. Stay tuned.

Bumper delivery for Pawel yesterday. It was great to check out all the features he's added to his van. Large Marge achieved 18.2 mpg up, but only managed 16.2 back largely due to strong crosswinds for the 175 miles back home with 750 ft elevation change in a 25 yr old van that's not bad. I've been running some aeromods on my 2wd cargo for years with good results. Time to make Marge more efficient. Is anyone interested in some aerodynamics of an Astro van post?
