As October brings shorter days, unpredictable weather, and more outdoor activities like trick-or-treating, it's important for new teen drivers to be extra cautious on the roads. Here are a few key tips:

1. Watch for Pedestrians: Fall events like Halloween bring more kids and families out, especially in residential areas. Always drive slowly and stay alert.

2. Be Mindful of Darkness: With earlier sunsets, you may find yourself driving more in the dark. Keep your headlights clean, use them early, and increase your following distance.

3. Weather Changes: Rain, fog, and frost can create slick roads. Reduce speed and make sure your tires and wipers are in good condition.

4. Eliminate Distractions: Stay focused! Put the phone away, avoid loud music, and limit passengers to reduce distractions.

5. Buckle Up: Always wear your seatbelt and make sure everyone in the car is buckled up before you start driving.
