This video showcases the updated Kann Two Compartment Automated Side Loader, Model SLA2. This unit is equipped with proportional controls utilizing the Parker Programmable IQAN Control System. The proportional joystick and pushbutton controls enable operators to load containers with remarkable smoothness and efficiency, achieving an 8-second loading cycle and a reach of up to 10 feet.

The Kann Two Compartment Side Loader features a vertically split body and compactor, creating two independent compartments that effectively prevent cross-contamination between different commodities. The compactor's flip door facilitates the separation and proper direction of materials into their designated compartments. Additionally, the dual bubble tailgates and head lift cylinder streamline the unloading process, allowing for quick and efficient commodity discharge.

For added versatility, the Kann Two Compartment Automated Side Loader is also available as a full eject body, designated as Model SLEA2.

The Kann Manufacturing Corporation's Food Scrap and Recycling Unit

This multicolored four-container unit features the 1st (yellow) and the 3rd (gray) containers, both being non-compacting containers, with the 3rd container being watertight, for the collection of cardboard and food scraps, respectively. The 2nd (blue) and the 4th (red) containers are compacting containers and will be used for the collection of plastic bottles and aluminum cans, respectively. It's interesting to note that a 1 cubic yard Kann compacting container can compact 16 cubic yards of uncompacted milk jugs into it's 1 cubic yard volume.

Kann has been manufacturing the Curbsort™ line of recycling trucks since the 1980s. These trucks offer quick and easy cart, bag, or loose-fill side-loading options, with the capability of various configurations, as the containers come in multiple sizes. The containers are completely separate and independent to eliminate any commodity cross-contamination. The containers can be efficiently unloaded from the side of the truck, allowing up to 6,000 lbs. of collected commodity to be dumped onto the ground, into a commercial container, or over a wall into a contained area. These containers can be made watertight, configured as single or split units for single or multiple commodities, and designed as non-compacting or compacting containers.

This is the ideal food scrap and recycling truck!

Introducing the Kann Satellite mini-Side Loaders

The Kann Satellite mini-side loaders are compact garbage trucks designed for residential routes, offering the ability to load from either side and transfer compacted materials to larger rear loaders, making them ideal for narrow streets, tight residential spaces and areas where larger trucks can't navigate. These non-cdl/non-FET units come in two sizes, the Kann SAT-6, six cubic yard and the SAT-10, ten cubic yard unit, and are capable of compaction rates between 600 and 800 lbs./cubic yard.

The Kann satellite side loader is fast, efficient and economical as it can constantly stay on the job collecting commodity, only needing to stop to unload its compacted commodity into a larger rear loader, and then quickly return right back to route to start loading again. Multiple satellite units can unload into a larger rear loader, before the larger rear loader eventually gets fully loaded and needs to be swapped out with another large empty rear loader, allowing the fully ladened rear loader to transport its load to the landfill for unloading. This process, if done correctly, offers minimum work stoppage and maximum efficiency, particularly in narrow and tight spaces.

KANN Model FS-12 - Food Scrap Truck

Introducing the Kann 10 cu. yd. Food Scrap Truck on a 19,500 GVWR Isuzu Chassis. This liquid tight body comes with dual side loading capability using two staggered candy cane cart tippers that operate independently with a loading cycle of 18 to 20 seconds. The body comes in sizes of 10, 14, and 16 cubic yards that fit on 19,500 GVWR, 26,000 GVWR and 33,000 GVWR chassis. The all weld aluminum bodies are light in weight but structurally designed and built enabling legal payloads of 8,000 lbs., 12,250 lbs. and 17,000 lbs. of commodity, respectively. Food scraps or other commodities can be easily unloaded via the tip-to-dump scissor hoist with a dump angle of over 45 degrees through the back, top hinged dump truck style gravity tailgate.

Introducing the Kann 6 yd3 Mini Rear Loader! The rear loader tailgate belly pan, tailgate sidewalls, body sidewalls and body floor are constructed using SSAB 450 180 ksi yield material. In addition, the mini rear loader also features a large size standard tailgate hopper, fast cycle times, optional cart tipper, and can achieve large legal payloads of 2 to 2-1/2 tons.
