DBA Spotted 👀

Gabriel Castaneda's Dodge Challenger 392 brings plenty of power to the table, and @6.4granite wanted a braking setup to match.

His Challenger is now running DBA 5000 Series two-piece rotors, combining a high-carbon cast iron ring with a lightweight aluminium hat.

The two-piece construction helps reduce unsprung weight and heat transfer from the rotor to the hub, while providing the thermal performance needed for more demanding driving.

For Gabriel, the biggest difference has been at the pedal. Compared with his previous setup, he's noticed a much stronger initial bite and quicker braking response, particularly important in a car carrying the size and weight of the Challenger.

NEW PRODUCT RELEASE | RAM 2500/3500

The DBA 4000 Series range has expanded with a new rear T3 slotted rotor for Ram 2500 and 3500 applications.

Heavy-duty trucks can place significant demands on their braking systems, especially when towing, carrying additional weight or braking repeatedly. Cast from high-carbon alloyed iron and treated using DBA’s Thermal Stability Profiling process, the 4000 Series is designed to help manage the increased heat and stress generated during demanding braking.

DBA’s T3 slot design adds precise, tri-symmetrical slots that help provide additional exit points for friction dust and gases. The result is a more consistent and responsive pedal feel.

Brake temperature can tell you a lot about your braking setup.

DBA’s Thermographic Heat Paint (TGHP) uses three temperature-sensitive markings on the rotor to provide a visual indication of the maximum temperatures reached during use.

As temperatures increase, the markings change color at specific thresholds. This can help identify excessive brake temperatures and guide brake pad selection to better suit your driving conditions.

TGHP is available on DBA 4000 & 5000 Series rotors.

It doesn’t take much to affect how your brakes feel.

Disc Thickness Variation (DTV) occurs when the thickness of a brake rotor varies around its surface. A variation as small as 20 microns (0.02 mm / 0.0008 in) can be enough to cause noticeable brake shudder.

You may experience it as steering wheel vibration, brake pedal pulsation, or shudder under braking.

Frenkie's SEAT Leon Cupra 280 (5F) spends most of its time on the street, but every now and then, takes it somewhere a little more demanding: the Nürburgring Nordschleife.

His setup pairs DBA 4000 Series T3 rotors with XP brake pads, giving him a combination suited to everyday driving with the performance capability for those occasional track outings.

The 4000 Series T3 is engineered to manage the increased temperatures of more demanding driving, while XP brake pads provide higher friction and temperature capability to match.
