We had a good week at Tire Rack International Headquarters! And it's Fall y'all! Temps have dropped enough to bring delicate houseplants in. My Bonsai trees are hunkering down for now. Our west coast friends are still on fire and northeast still getting wet and blown away. I hope everyone is staying safe.

Unfortunately we lost a school this week. The Nittany Bimmers Chapter BMW CCA pulled the plug on their school scheduled for 10/24. We've got a couple of other schools that have some low registrations numbers. If you have a school in your area PLEASE talk it up and help out. We'd rather not lose the chance to teach the new drivers what we do. Please help us help others. The life you save might be your own!

10/10 - St Louis Region PCA #1 - St Charles, MO - Matt Moore led the charge for this combined group across all our hosts. 34 out of 40 seats were sold. Tim Beechuk visited the school acting as Classroom facilitator. Reports where a great school!

10/10-11 - Tarheel Chapter BMW CCA #1 & 2 - Raleigh, NC - Annul double weekend for Team Tarheel. Ethan Steinman and Phil Antoine led the teams. 51 new drivers have life saving skills thanks to the team of dedicated volunteers!

10/11 - DelVal Chapter BMW CCA #2 - Ambler PA - Temple University's Ambler Campus hosted the DelVal Chapters 2nd school of the year and 4th at that site under JR Fisher's faithful control. This one qualified them for the +1=2x$ double sponsorship dollars campaign. JR, the 2019 Street Survival Hero of the Year, had his team ready. Philly Region SCCA volunteers assisted as usual! Thanks to all!

This Weekend’s Action - 4 schools!

10/17 - Genesee Valley BMW CCA #1– Watkins Glen NY - Adrian Sultana has the team ready for their 17 students for a school at the Dansville Municipal Airport. Thanks to all for sticking with the program and changing sites! Looks a little cool, with a high of 48 today but sunny! Thanks to everybody involved!

10/17 - Arizona Border Region SCCA #1 – Tucson AZ - Daniel Gurney has his crew ready in sunny Tucson, 65 in the morning sliding up to 79. 16 students will be learning new skills today from a great group of volunteers! Thanks all!

10/18 - MoHud Region SCCA #2 Saratoga Springs, NY. Back to upstate New York and hosting for the 25th time in their history. Matt Fraley has a crew ready for 15 new drivers. they will get up to 58 degrees after a pretty cool start. Good Luck all! Thanks!

10/18 - New Jersey Chapter BMW CCA #2 – Mahwah, NJ - I can't say anything I haven't said before about this group and their leader Larry Engel, Circle of Excellence Class of 2017. Their 39th school by my count! They've got 27 students. a brisk 50 degree high temp awaits!. Thanks all!

Even the best of staff volunteers can over do it. As seen after the resent National Capital BMW CCA School

Greetings Heroes!

Woo Hoo a great week! And it's October! Storms are coming in hard on 2 coasts. I hope everyone in their path stays safe. We had 3 schools last week and will have 4 this week.

So just as the year is winding down, I've been preaching there is still time to host. This was proven this week when I got a email from Francis Marquis in Ottawa telling me the Ottawa Chapter of the BMW Clubs Canada will host a school in November. It's a short notice time frame but they can pull it off! See, there is still time! We've got at least 8 more weekend before the Christmas holiday's.

The other big news for the week is we are back on the 'Gram! We have been fighting Mark Zuckerberg, Meta and it seemed everybody else trying to get control of the old Street Survival Instagram account that was set up a loooooong time ago. Passwords, ID's, etc had been underused, then misplaced, forgotten (insert excuse here). Many emails, texts across the board to everyone that has ever been involved gave me some..... ah... incorrect information. 🚗 Last Weekend’s Action - 3 Schools

10/4 - Central New York Region PCA #2 - Rome NY - Dennis Hesse led the charge. This King of Perseverance did will NOT cancel even though he only had 7 students. Thank you, Dennis and your crew. This was his 10th school overall. Great job all!

10/4 - Blue Ridge Region PCA #2 - Salem VA - Marc & Mary Wilson, had assembled their team, and their 17 students got the lifesaving skills and the Salem roads are now a safer place to be.

10/4 - Upper Canada Region PCA #1 - Toronto, ON. 33 students were waiting on this existing school location now run by the local PCA Region. Mario Marello led the crew. Good job to all involved!

Hello! Boom! and just like that, we are in the middle of September! I hope everyone had a good Labor Day (Sorry I jumped the gun a bit). No new schools opened or commitments since we last spoke, come on everybody, let's not stop now!

In the next 3 weeks we will host 10 schools. We are literally in using all compass points; Coco FL, Calgary Alberta, Fowlerville MI, Austin TX, Colchester CT, Yoder KS. 5 schools on 1 day, 9/26! Potential of 2 sell outs!!

And.... look out for October!, 17 schools! Thanks to all our great volunteers!

9/13 - BMW Club Southern Alberta - Rocky Mountain Motorsport Park - Calgary, Alberta. Our 1st Canadian school of the year. Glen Cook and the team are on point! Looking at a rainy day with showers and a high of 57 degrees after starting out at 45. This is their 6th school after starting their participation in 2018. Strong work!

Celebrating 15 Years of Service to Tire Rack Street Survival

After 15 years of dedicated service coordinating volunteers for the Tire Rack Street Survival program through the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA), we announce the departure of Tim Beechuk from this role.

For more than a decade and a half, Tim has been a driving force behind the success of countless Street Survival schools, helping to recruit, organize, and support the volunteers who make these life-saving events possible. Through his leadership, commitment, and passion, thousands of young drivers have benefited from the skills and experiences that Tire Rack Street Survival provides.

Throughout his time with the program, Tim often reflected on a quote from WWII aviation pioneer James Doolittle:

"There's nothing stronger than the heart of a volunteer."

This belief was evident in everything he did. He understood that the strength of the Street Survival program comes from the dedicated volunteers who freely give their time, expertise, and energy to help make our roads safer. His appreciation for those volunteers, and his tireless efforts to support them, have left a lasting impact on the program and the Street Survival community.

While we are saddened to see him step away from this role, we are incredibly grateful for his 15 years of service, leadership, and friendship. His contributions have helped build a stronger program, a stronger volunteer network, and a safer future for young drivers.

Please join us in thanking Tim for his extraordinary commitment and wishing him all the best in his future endeavors. His legacy will continue to be felt every time a volunteer steps forward to help a new generation of drivers learn critical car control and safety skills.

Hello! We are over the most important part of August, my birthday! (just kidding of course) Thanks to all who acknowledged! It's great to hear from everybody even if it's just once a year. Back to business, even more kids are going back to school this week, please keep an eye open for them when you're out on the roads. ....Let's do an update!

Even with the blessed birthday going on, it was a quite week at Tire Rack Street Survival North American Headquarters. No new schools, no new commitments.

Rob Price, our Porsche Club National Street Survival Coordinator, was on a PCA podcast that was all about Street Survival. Manny Alban was also on the show. Manny was the PCA National President at one time and was instrumental in Street Survival becoming PCA project. Take a listen at porsche-club-insider.castos.com. Great job Rob! Thanks Vu & Manny!! (thanks for the shout out Manny & Rob).

The Sandlapper Chapter BMW CCA worked with the Spartanburg TV station (WSPA) recently to promote Street Survival and their November class. Here’s a link to the spot. www.wspa.com

8/22 - Philly Region SCCA #2 Blue Bell PA - JR Fisher held his 3rd school of the year. He still has 1 to go. This one was hosted by the Philly Region SCCA. His 'United Nations' crew of SCCA / BMW CCA / PCA members knocked it out of the park! Thank you for you and all your crews hard work!

8/22 - Maria's Message - Columbus OH - We assisted the last Maria's Message school for the year. OK so this is a bit of a stretch, but.... I was going to celebrate the Illini Chapter BMW CCA back-to-back school this weekend with a picture from 2010 and their 1st year, but there are no pictures from that. So how about from 2015 when they did their 1st back-to-back weekend? Nope, still no pictures. How about any pictures from any year from the Illini Chapter, alas no. Hey guys how about some pic's?! BUT.... we gotta have something that catches the eye and keeps you all coming back right? Here's a shot from a school we did in Savannah GA back in 2015. Sadly the name of this dedicated motorhead is lost. Sorry

Greetings Heroes!

Well it's Friday again! It's the 2nd weekend in July! I hope everybody had a Happy Independence Day! When you have a granddaughter who's lives close and has a birthday the day after the 4th, things are great! Hard to be grumpy around a 7 year old. We are back hosting schools after a couple of weeks off. 2 schools (our 2nd back-to-back for the year) and a Maria's Message this weekend. Let's do an update!

We had a up and down week at the International Tire Rack Street Survival HQ. We had promises made this week on 4 schools by the SCCA. We had to postpone an almost sold out PCA school in California scheduled for this fall due to venue conflicts. Hopefully we can get that sorted out with a major assist by the BMW Club Chapter. Fingers crossed. (Thanks Dan!)

7/11 - Maria's Message - Columbus OH - We are helping facilitate the 2nd Maria's Message school this weekend in Columbus. Thanks to all involved in that event.

7/11 - Illini Chapter BMW CCA '26 #1 &

7/12 - Illini Chapter BMW CCA '26 #2 - Bruce Huber and the Illini Chapter of the BMW CCA is hosting the 26 & 27th school in their 16 year history this weekend. They were one of the first if not THE first to embrace the double school in one weekend concept. They started hosting double weekends back in 2015 and have done so ever since. They started hosting 5 years prior when State Trooper Rick Largen passionately took up the banner for TRSS and led the charge for 12 years! Bruce has the same passion and has demonstrated his skill at marketing and PR. They have 32 students for Saturday (35 seat capacity) and 21 for Sunday! Well done all!

56 teens have died this week since the last time you read this update!

NOTE - I received an email comment from a reader that I shouldn't have a exclamation mark after this stat because "No one would see this as funny". My exclamation is not to try to inject humor here but to emphasize the severity of this social calamity. This is the same as a jet plane full of teens every month! We have got to do a better job training our most vulnerable new drivers. I feel our program does that! That's why this stat stays up. We gotta remember the task at hand. WE SAVE LIVES!
