Greer Dragway is a 1/8th mile WDRA sanctioned dragstrip located near the city of Greer, South Carolina. Nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Greer is located between Greenville and Spartanburg in the Northwestern part of the State. The Greer Dragway was opened in th

e 1950's by the Greer Jaycees and was really a community project. All labor used in getting the track started, built and running was done by the Jaycees, neighbors and several area groups of concerned citizens. The original purpose was to provide money for needy children in the Greer, SC area. Besides having races to raise money for the children, the Jaycees would, on holiday weekends, have fireworks and other entertainment for those children. In the early 1970's the Jaycees were temporarily disbanded and the land was purchased by a realtor. The land was later leased and bought by Tom and Sue Ferrell. Roland McAbee became the manager of the track in 1979. On October 25, 1988, Roland McAbee passed away. Mike Greer then became the new manager of the track. Mike was the manager for over 20 years, and became the current owner in 2010. After the last race of 2009, the old racing surface and metal guard rails were done away with. Beginning in 2010 we have a brand new concrete track, walls and new timing equipment.

This week at Greer Dragway:

Thursday, June 4th we will have Practice & Grudge Racing from 6-10pm! Gates open at 6pm. $15 cash gets you in the gate to spectate or race!

Saturday, June 6th we will be closed. We will be looking forward to seeing everyone back on June 13th for a regular Bracket Race plus the 5.30 & 6.30 classes!

Thank you to everyone who took a chance with us on yesterday's questionable weather forecast! With one rain "sprinkle" that we took advantage of to use as our normal short break in action we were able to get the race in! More rain showers moved in as the finalists were getting loaded up to head home.

Race Day! *If anything changes due to weather we will post as soon as we can!*

Gates open at 11:30am with Time Trials beginning around 12:30pm. Reminder that we will be calling by classes for your time trial! We will have Pro, Footbrake, Jr. Dragster, Sportsman, Motorcycle and TCR. (No Test & Tune)

Spectator Admission is $15, Kids 6-11 $3, under 6 is free!

**Time Trial run order will be Footbrake, Juniors, Pro Door cars, Pro Dragsters, Sportsman, Motorcycle and TCR. We will switch back to our regular run order with Dash for Cash!**

We have received notice there is now a Bounty on Mr. Shane Maddox for this coming points race! This comes as no surprise considering Mr. Maddox has won the first 2 points races of 2026. Let’s see if someone can take the bounty home or if Shane will receive it himself!

Saturday, May 30th will be our next Points Race! *Please note that we will be calling cars by classes for your time trial.*
