What if the biggest opportunity in RV retail isn’t selling more RVs?

It’s a question I’ve been spending a lot of time thinking about.

The traditional dealership model is fairly straightforward. Acquire inventory, sell units, provide service, and repeat.

But I’ve always believed there’s an opportunity to build something more.

What happens when a dealership stops thinking primarily about the next transaction and starts thinking about the entire lifetime of the customer?

What happens when service becomes a relationship rather than a repair order?

When technology helps customers long after they’ve left the showroom?

When employees have opportunities to grow into leadership, and the business becomes less dependent on any one individual?

And perhaps most importantly, what happens when those ideas become repeatable systems rather than simply good intentions?

At Palmetto State RV, these are the questions shaping how we’re thinking about our future.

We’re looking beyond traditional dealership operations, exploring opportunities to create recurring customer relationships, expand our capabilities, and build something that can grow without compromising what makes a family-owned business special.

Not every idea will work. Some will take years to develop. But I believe the dealerships that succeed in the next chapter of this industry will be the ones willing to rethink what a dealership can actually be.

We’re not interested in simply becoming a bigger version of what we are today. We’re interested in becoming a better version of what an RV dealership can be.

There’s a lot more to this story than what’s visible from the road.

And we’re just getting started.
