I am growing weary. I am sure it is the same feeling these linemen, medical professionals, first responders, police, people who are using what they have to help, and others Feel, who have worked tirelessly since this disaster. At this point, I think I will fall on my needs, thank God above, and cry when I finally am able to have lights and power. But this weariness is NOTHING compared to the poor souls who have lost family members, houses, cars, livelihoods! Since this tragedy, our family, like many, have pulled together to help each other, neighbors, friends, and strangers keep meals, water and gas flowing to ones that are unable to get out themselves. The strong abled ones left out early Friday am after the storm to help with unimaginable wrecker calls that they will be traumatized over for months. However, in the process of trying to get to the first call which happened to be those precious firemen, they ran into 5 more things that people desperately needed the strength of the wreckers for. We have continued to work at home and at the shop with no power tirelessly alongside some of the greatest people God put on Earth. Myself, and my wonderful girls, took the coffee/breakfast trailer to serve 175 very hard working guys at Ascend -Wednesday and Thursday to treat them for working a shut down in a time they all needed to be home with their families. As I drove down the drive to their plant, after having so much trouble “gathering “ enough milk, meat, bread to have, the emotions came back as I remembered Dad working here for 40 years and as a Greenwood plant who used to be so sought after to work for. Their bright lights were stunning as compared to the darkness we’ve had over the last week and the number of employees there were just a drop of what used to be but it still was magnificent! I say all this to say there are great people in this world! This disaster has showed us just how many are still here. Hiding, waiting, quietly to help This has humbled us to certainly appreciate the easier life that we had prior to last Friday. We just want to THANK EVERYONE who has kept our small towns afloat. This has been a once in a lifetime event but it has brought the most important things to light. It has brought the kindness and love that was hidden behind so many material, worldly, and political things. Thank you again to all the first responders and ones that have been there. Whether it was washing clothes for other or driving them to the grocery store or clearing trees off houses or cars. We ❤️ and appreciate them all. 🙏🏻 🙏🏻
