I don't want any confrontation on this post. Just getting my feelings out. If you don't agree just pass this by........ I'm going to vent here...I believe we all have the right to worship as we please, but I also know that our country, the United States of America was founded on Christian principles. I believe we should be proud of our country. A quote is a quote. It should not be amended or watered down. The news should not be afraid to use someone’s quote that refers to God.

On the "Today Show", one of the wives of one of the Navy Seals killed along with the US ambassador in Libya was being interviewed. He asked her what she would say to her children about their dad and how she would want them to remember him. Her answer, and I quote, "His love for Christ", and then continued on with a few other things. Throughout the day and on the MSN homepage, replaying the story, they have edited the "Love of Christ" part out. Why? Because using the word Christ might offend someone! Well now, it's my turn to be offended! I'm offended that they would edit it out. Offended that Christians are asked to tread lightly so as not to offend someone of another religion. This man loved his country and loved God and gave his life for both. This Founding Principle is actually embedded in our Declaration of Independence: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”

I hope every Christian or every person that believes in God who is offended will copy this and paste it to their status....

Don't leave them outside...bring em' in!

Here is one of the coolest reasons to own a Zero - indoor charging. No garage? No external plug/power access? WHO CARES! Push the Zero right into your living room and charge away. Will your spouse or significant other like this? WHO CARES!!!😂😂😂 I currently have the bike inside my work charging because we have no outside electric access here where we park. So now I get to look at this beautiful thing all day. Plus it gives me a chance to talk about the bike to anyone that looks at it. Win-win for me!

Wear your gear....or else!

I got out on the Zero and rode it to work on Tuesday. Yes, in that rippin' hot heat I rode to work. Now, if you know me, it's ATGATT (all the gear all the time) and it's been that way since I became a motorcycle safety instructor many years ago. Even after retiring from teaching, I'm still wearing my gear. I feel naked without it and i'd honestly rather wipe some sweat than get gravel picked out of my elbow and regions i'd rather not mention.

But I digress and have gotten off track, sorta. I honestly realized this for the first time that there's another reason to wear all the gear. It's keeping you from being visited by the state bird of North Carolina, the mosquito.

I will preface the rest of the story with describing where I live. It's an easy explanation: a mini-swamp in the City of Washington, NC. The mosquito's stopped calling my property a vacation zone and have set up light housekeeping. It can be a brutal existence if you have any bare skin showing. Honestly, you must plan on having multiple red welts over 99% of your body if you're in shorts and a t-shirt. I'm not being sarcastic or overly dramatic - come spend some time in my backyard and stand still for more than 3 seconds and you'll see why you'll be investing in a case of bug spray. I mow my yard in long sleeves, long pants and gloves with a liberal coating of the best bug spray that will kill them and won't kill me.

Anyway, to finish the story: I rode the Zero home and pulled under the carport to plug it in. I wasn't off the bike 5 seconds (yes, FIVE seconds!) and I looked down and a mosquito had landed on my leg. He was so big the jerk needed to request permission to land from PGV. :) If I didn't have my gear on, i'd have been scratching all the way through my favourite 10pm TV show.

So please, wear all your gear - whether you're riding a Zero Motorcycles of Greenville SR, American-assembled, Metric, Electric, scooter or anything that moves faster than you can walk. You need to protect yourself from all of the hazards out there, including mosquitoes!

A Bike of a Different Color.....Literally!

Well, my white Zero SR decided it was going to utilize the "check engine" light. Which, by the way, when it goes off I giggle and laugh and think that "i'd surely check it if it HAD ONE"! :) But yes, the white Zero SR I had needed to see the repair Gods at Carolina V-Twin and Zero Motorcycles of Greenville. What's up with it? No idea - but the bike doesn't quit. Even though the light came on, the bike still ran perfectly, performed flawlessly, and didn't leave me stranded anywhere. Was able to ride it right over there from my house (24 miles away) and the guys over there set me up with this red Zero SR goddess. Considering it's the same model, I didn't miss a beat. The bike was consistent from one to the other, with the only noticeable "difference" was the handlebars on this one are a little more rolled forward than the white one.

Every time I hop on this bike i'm trying to rationalize and justify making another payment on top of the 2 car payments I have. I don't really know how to explain it to folks - I just usually say "you've gotta drive one". And when that happens, it seals the deal. People GET IT. It's like going to the bakery and wanting the cherry pie and the apple pie with ice cream - and you get BOTH in the same pan!! Woo-hoo!!

Last night I stopped by a local outdoor-adventure type business in my hometown to check on some bicycle repairs that they are doing for me. It's next to a nice outdoor bar/restaurant that has music. There was a crowd there, which proceeded to check out the Zero. People were BAFFLED - seriously baffled, when I rolled up without a sound. I got a lot of quizzical looks, more smiles, and a lot of "cool" comments. When people realise there is no motor, no radiator, no exhaust, no fluids, no clutch, no gears, no hassle...it all makes sense.

Hopped on the Zero today and rode behind some crazy wicked storms heading east. Surprisingly, the Zero had been unplugged for at least a week or more. Turned it on and it was at 100%! Electric is where it's at for convenience, fun, and simplicity.

Quick charging....Zero Motorcycles style! Rocket charging speed....really!

As promised, I stopped at the local hotel and tried out their charging station - this was the FIRST TIME I ever used the "j-plug" on the bike. Took charging (on the standard wall plug) from a 5-6 hour time to WELL UNDER 90 minutes!! You could go get a bite to eat, take a break, and be ready to go in no time flat. I could see planning a longer road trip going from station to station to charge the bike.....turn the Zero from commuter to long-tripper!

It's been a minute (well, about a truck load of minutes honestly) since i've been able to get on here and tell everyone all about the Zero SR motorcycle....life sort of got in the way, weather sort of got in the way, you know how it is, right? Well, Friday morning i'll be putting up a post about using the "J-Plug" to charge the bike. There's a charging station right near my house (It's part of a national hotel chain location) that i'm going to try out and see what happens. I'm going to arrive there with about 35-40% charge on the battery and plug in - then see what it tells me for the time for "full charge" is.....so WATCH HERE!!

This is me. This is me on the Zero Motorcycles of Greenville SR motorcycle. This is not a joke!

It's been a few since i've posted up here as we've had a rather eventful few weeks here at the dealership. But i'm back in the saddle again, and have rode the SR a few times to work. And believe it or not, I still get the same exact feeling as Snoopy below. I'm like a giddy school kid on the last day of school. A dog with a big, fat, meaty bone. An adult with a full bottle of wine. A pig in slop. An ant going to a picnic. I can come up with a few more. But in all seriousness, the bike is that good.

My last ride to work was uneventful - right up to the moment I realised I had to rush home to take one of my dogs to an emergency vet appointment. All I could think about driving home, outside of hoping my dog would be ok, was wouldn't it be cool to have a pup on the SR with me. Yes, there are a few companies that make tail bags specifically for dogs or any other random small animal. They work. And I want one.

If you have not gotten into the dealership and test drove a Zero Motorcycles bike, you need to. Bring your helmet, wear some gear, and get on it. Let the Blessed Mother of Acceleration make you giggle with delight - or even dance like I do. Trust me, YOU WILL.
