We know how blessed we are to live in Rains County and be surrounded by other amazing communities as well.
And when one of our own goes through something, we want to be there in any way we can.
Becky Cason is one of the beautiful faces you’ll see serving when you come to Sidekick’s Bar & Grill. In January 2017, Becky’s dad, Phillip Cason, wasn’t feeling well and after going to the doctor, he and his family were shocked when he was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). After a couple of rounds of chemo, doctors found Phillip a bone marrow donor and a bone marrow transplant was performed.
Phillip entered remission but was soon hit with endocarditis and had to have open heart surgery as well as three leg surgeries. And over the past year, his body has been rejecting the donated bone marrow.
Two months ago, Phillip and his family received the devastating news that the cancer has returned and is in several places in his body including a large mass behind one eye that causes constant pain. Phillip is having a round of radiation every day and has several treatments remaining.
As Phillip and his family push forward, we want them to be able to only have to worry about being by Phillip’s side.
On Tuesday, May 14, Billie Jo will be performing from 5:30-7:00 pm and Brent Alexander will be performing from 7:30-9:00 pm as we hold a benefit for Phillip.
We will continue to update all of you with details of the benefit in the coming days. Make sure to like and follow our page to keep up on those updates.
Mark your calendars for May 14 to come wrap Phillip and his family in love and support and contribute to help them all be able to focus on being together.
Thank you all in advance for helping us take care of one of our own.
