A little bit of a new chapter at Sickles Trucking & Repair. ❤️

Yesterday our daughter Brittany officially joined our office team, working alongside Kacee to help keep the shop and our new fertilizer storage shed rolling.

Between the two of them, they’ll be keeping up with scheduling, invoicing, inventory, scaling trucks in and out of the shed, and all the other behind-the-scenes things that keep this business moving.

We’re pretty excited about this team. Kacee has become like a daughter to us over the past year, and now having Brittany join her makes this next chapter feel extra special. ❤️

Brittany is kind, fair, level-headed…and thankfully has a math brain because Kacee and I definitely did NOT get that gene. 😂

And then there are the little ones. Brittany and Jalen have Scottie, and Kacee and Colby have Dutton, and now they get to grow up spending some time around the shop together, too.

Brandon has already decided Dutton is going to be his trucking buddy someday! 😂❤️

Judging by today’s pictures, these two may already have the friendship part figured out. 🥰

We’re pretty excited about what’s to come.

Update: 9/2/26 we are back up and going!

🥵 WELL… TODAY HAD OTHER PLANS. 🙄

Between the heat advisory and our internet being down, we’re going to call it an early day today.

The heat alone makes for a rough day in the shop, but without internet we can’t order parts, look things up, or do a whole lot of the behind-the-scenes stuff that keeps the wheels turning. 🤦‍♀️

So rather than have everyone melting in the shop and staring at computers that don’t work, we’re going to send the crew home early.

We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate everyone’s understanding! ❤️

🎡 Closing Early Thursday! 🎡

Tomorrow, Thursday, August 20th, we’ll be closing the shop at 4:30 PM so some of our crew can head to the Iowa State Fair! 🌽🎟️

We may be down two mechanics this week, but we’ve got a secret weapon… Grandpa Mike! 💪🛞

With two of our mechanics enjoying a well-earned vacation, Brandon’s dad, Mike, didn’t hesitate to jump in and lend a hand. Whether it’s mounting tires, helping in the shop, or simply doing whatever needs done, he’s been a huge help.

Seeing three generations working side by side—Mike, Brandon, and Haydon—is pretty special. It reminds us that this business has always been about more than fixing vehicles. It’s about family, hard work, and showing up for each other.

We forgot to mention baby cuddles were part of the benefits package. 🍼💙

Not a bad way to spend your first day on the clock!

After years of volunteering as “the boss’s kid,” today was his first official day on the payroll. I’d say he did pretty well.

Fertilizer shed update 👀

Today’s highlight was watching the trusses go up with the help of a crane. The crew got started at 6:30 a.m. to beat the heat, and by early afternoon, all of the trusses were set.

It won’t be long now!

We will be observing the 4th of July on Friday to give our employees a much deserved break to spend with their loved ones!
