KNOW THE NO-ZONES: Semi-trucks have four large blind spots or “no zones” – at the front, rear, and both sides of the trailer. Driving in these areas can be dangerous, as truck drivers might not see you. Follow these tips:

🚛Stay out of blind spots
🚛Never cut in front of a truck – stay at least 20 feet ahead of trucks
🚛Stay 200 feet or more behind trucks
🚛Avoid passing trucks on the right side

Remember, if you can't see the truck driver’s face in the truck’s mirrors, then the driver can’t see you.

DYK? The first licensed female truck driver was from Wisconsin. Luella Bates was born in 1897 in Clintonville, WI and was hired by the Four Wheel Drive Auto Company in 1918 to help replace male workers during World War I. Bates, who showed superior skills at truck maneuverability, inspection and mechanics, traveled throughout Wisconsin after the war as a test driver of the “Model B FWD”.

She was sent to drive at the New York Auto Show in 1920, and in New York she became the first licensed female truck driver in the U.S. Bates went on to receive national attention with a transcontinental trip along with other tours.
