After a lot of thought, I've made the decision to officially close Hang Loose Rentals.

Hang Loose Rentals started on August 9th, 2021, right here in Green Bay. What began as a small one man operation out of my home grew into something I'm incredibly proud of. Over the years I’ve met amazing people, watched families create memories on the water, and learned more lessons than I ever expected when I started.

Running this business has meant long days, constant problem solving, and a lot of hard work, but it has also been deeply rewarding. Every kayak, paddleboard, pontoon, and jet ski carried its own story, and I've always taken pride in keeping the equipment ready for the next adventure.

Now life is taking me in a new direction. With a son on the way, I want to focus my time and energy on family. Because of that, I've decided it's the right time to close this chapter.

I'm incredibly grateful to everyone who supported Hang Loose Rentals over the years. Customers, friends, and the community that made it possible.

Thank you for trusting me to be part of your time on the water.

How are your boat launch skills?

Here are tips to keep everyone on an even keel while getting on the water.

– Make sure vehicle side mirrors are adjusted. Then, practice backing skills in a large open space.
– Do your staging away from the launch, especially on busy days. This allows you to efficiently move your fishing gear and life jackets from your vehicle to your boat without delaying others.
– Have a companion calmly spot for you, with a minimum of hand gestures, waving of arms or yelling.
– Turn the vehicle's steering wheel opposite the direction you want the stern of the boat to go and make small corrections as you back up.
– Once your boat is floating, ask your companion to hold the rope and/or cleat it off on the pier while you park your vehicle and trailer to quickly make way for the next boater.
– Solo trip? Remember to launch on the side of the pier where the wind will drift your boat into the pier.

A few words for spectators:
For people who have their boat-backing skills down, patience, kindness and a few encouraging words go a long way in putting the novice at ease.
