WHAT’S NEW IN YOUR CAR? — DAY 4

🧠 NEURAL NETWORKS & MACHINE LEARNING

We’ve talked about humidity sensors, air-quality sensors, and even air ionizers. For our final day, we’re getting into something that sounds like it belongs in a science-fiction movie:

Neural networks and machine learning. 🤯

Some modern vehicles can use machine-learning technology to recognize patterns in how you drive and how you use your vehicle.

Here’s a simple example:

👩 Amanda drives to work: She likes the temperature set at *73°*.

👶 Amanda has her baby in the car: She prefers the temperature at *78°*when heading to daycare.

Over time, a vehicle equipped with the right technology can recognize those patterns and *learn from them*, allowing certain vehicle systems to adapt to the driver's preferences and circumstances.

That's the basic idea behind machine learning: instead of simply following one set of instructions, the system can analyze information and patterns and use what it has learned to make future decisions.

And this isn't just about the temperature. As vehicle technology continues to evolve, computers are being used to understand things like driver behavior, vehicle conditions, surroundings, and individual preferences.

🤯 Your car isn't just responding to you anymore—it can start learning from you.

The vehicles of today are a LOT more sophisticated than the vehicles many of us grew up working on.

That's why we believe training never stops. 🔧📚

WHAT’S NEW IN YOUR CAR? — DAY 3

⚡ AIR IONIZERS — YES, YOUR CAR CAN IONIZE THE AIR!

Yesterday we talked about air-quality sensors. Today, we're taking it one step further.

Some newer vehicles are equipped with an **air ionizer**—a system that actually sends ions into the cabin air as part of the vehicle's air-cleaning system.
The ionizer helps charge airborne particles, which can make them easier to capture or remove through the vehicle's filtration system. Depending on the system, the goal is to help reduce things like fine particles, odors and certain airborne contaminants.

Think about that the next time you turn on your climate control. You're not just getting heat or A/C anymore—your vehicle may actually be treating the air inside the cabin.

Modern vehicles are packed with technology that most drivers never see or even know is there.

🔧 That's why we're continuing to train and learn about these systems. The more technology vehicles have, the more there is for today's technicians to understand.

WHAT’S NEW TECHNOLOGY IS IN YOUR CAR? — DAY 2

**🌬️ Air Quality Sensors**

Yesterday we talked about humidity sensors. Today, let's talk about something you might not even realize is monitoring the air inside your vehicle. 👀

Some newer vehicles are equipped with air quality sensors that monitor the air coming into the cabin and can detect things like pollutants and poor air quality.

So what does your vehicle do with that information?

If the outside air quality gets bad—think **heavy traffic, exhaust fumes, smoke, or other pollutants**—the vehicle can automatically adjust the HVAC system and switch to recirculation mode, helping keep that unwanted air outside. 🌬️🚫

Some systems can even work together with the vehicle's other sensors to continuously monitor the cabin environment and adjust the climate control accordingly.
Your car can actually be making decisions about the air you're breathing without you ever touching a button. 🤯

Modern vehicles aren't just transportation anymore. They're becoming smart environmental control systems on wheels.

🔧 That's why keeping up with new technology is so important for us as technicians. The systems we're diagnosing and servicing today are a LOT different than they were just a few years ago.

WHAT’S NEW TECHNOLOGY IS IN YOUR CAR? — DAY 1

💧 The Humidity Sensor

Your windshield isn't just… glass. Not anymore.

Many newer vehicles have a humidity sensor mounted near the windshield that monitors moisture and temperature around the glass. The vehicle can use that information to predict when the windshield is going to fog up—and take action before you even realize it.

The vehicle can automatically turn on the A/C, switch to fresh outside air, direct airflow toward the windshield, and increase the fan speed to help keep your view clear.

And here's the part that can surprise you:

💰 Your windshield isn't necessarily “just a windshield” anymore.

Modern glass can incorporate sensors, cameras, rain/light detection, heating elements, acoustic glass, HUD displays and other technology. Depending on the vehicle and equipment, replacement glass and installation can range from **a few hundred dollars to $1,000+**, with advanced driver-assistance calibration potentially adding even more.

The Auto defogging reduces the likelihood of fogging up the inside of the windshield by sensing moisture on inside of the windshield.
