Just a little Off-Road news: Spring Creek - 7093
Years ago, this popular full-size 4x4 trail was suddenly changed, by the Forest Service, to an ATV-only route. Many believe this was done in error. Working toward fixing this error, and returning full-size access to this trail is Butte's Continental 4 Wheel Drive Association, a 4x4 club.
CFWDA members are currently working, with the local Ranger District's permission, to perform maintenance on the trail as part of this process.
The trail may not be fully open to us for a while, but kudos to this club and off-roaders for their efforts, which will likely benefit us all, in the near future. Thank you to them for their efforts and work, and watch for their "work party" event. UPDATE: The event is posted on the CFWDA FB page. The link is in the comments.
This is not the only trail on which this kind of change is being considered, and the CFWDA club is working toward. :D
REMEMBER: Spring Creek is still officially an ATV trail. CFWDA has Forest Service permission to take full-size rigs for this project, in anticipation of later changes. It is still signed (for now) as ATV. However, it should change in the near future, but that is a bunch of that "red tape" type stuff they have to deal with. You can always ask permission from the Butte Ranger District. They are pretty friendly about this. PLEASE - Don't just go there, without permission, and mess up all the plans, goodwill, and work.
