Congratulations to Mr.Hayes with their new to the family purchase! Mr. Hayes reached out to ask if I do pre-purchase inspections. I went out and hooked the laptop to the engine and got the engine hours for him and looked for any preexisting codes or mechanical issues. This boat was in great shape and got a clean bill of health. Hire a marine technician, not a marine parts swapper. 1996 Mercury 25 hp. Will not run. Cough and sneezing. Reed plate seal had fallen apart due to age. This seals the reeds from each cylinder. Without it sealed properly it will not pull a stoichiometric fuel/air mixture. Text 864-905-9581 to get scheduled.

Use a qualified business to maintain your equipment. This is an example of someone installing the wear cup incorrectly. The tabs that hold the cup in place were not installed in the upper housing correctly. The cup spun inside the housing. If it spins it blocks water flow to the pickup tube and your engine will run hot and futher damage will occur. Only use factory replacement parts as well! These cheaper Amazon impellers are junk. Induction heating is where its at with rusted fasteners! This works though a process called Eddy current. Pulsing AC waveforms travel though the ferrous conductor.

How's your fuel system doing ? Fuel Systems in boats are neglected x1000 compared to vehicles. Imagine driving your car for 4 months then parking it for 8 months. For 25+ years and never doing maintenance on it. Thats what gets you to the acronym "break out another thousand". It cost more to do repairs after maintenance has been neglected.
