Labor Day weekend is here, and we hope you get a chance to relax, spend time with family and friends, and enjoy the long weekend.

Warning lights for the ride height system brought this vehicle into the shop, but our testing uncovered more than one issue.

During the test drive, we heard clunking and occasional grinding from the rear. Our inspection found a very loose left rear wheel bearing, a damaged tone ring, and codes pointing to a left rear wheel speed sensor performance issue. We recommended replacing the wheel bearing and wheel speed sensor.

We also found a leaking right engine mount and minor oil leaks from both valve cover gaskets, with stored codes indicating a possible intermittent PCV issue. The coolant was slightly low and topped off, but no obvious leak was found.

Warning lights don't always tell the whole story. Proper testing helps us find the cause and recommend the right repairs.

Not every coolant leak is easy to spot.

This Porsche came into the shop with a concern that the water pump might be leaking. After inspecting the cooling system, we confirmed the water pump was actively leaking. The pump is located near the top center of the engine, and coolant was visible around the pump, allowing us to pinpoint the source of the leak.

A water pump plays an important role in circulating coolant through the engine. When it begins to leak, it can eventually lead to overheating and more extensive engine damage if the problem isn't addressed.

Confirming the source of a leak before recommending repairs is an important part of the diagnostic process. It helps ensure the correct repair is made the first time.
