Day 1 of Unreal Adventure was a blast. We tackled quite a few trails at Twin Mountain Off Road Park that broke quite a few rigs. The IH’s are so far doing pretty good. Was a hot day so we are hoping for the weather to get better as the week progresses. Stay tuned for more updates.

Also just a heads up that the IHPA shop will be closed today in honor of Labor Day. Maybe take the time to hop in your IH and see what kind of adventure you have on your own.

We have made it to the starting hotel for Unreal Adventure 2026. Both vehicles have passed tech inspection, received the coveted windshield sticker, applied stickers from our fellow sponsors and got our sponsor video filmed. Tomorrow is the first day of wheeling and we are excited to crawl some rocks. Stay tuned to see how our week goes.

Just a quick unplanned engine swap on Project Heinous before we leave for Unreal Adventure 2026. Got the A-Team on it and Cameraman Joe filming. We should be back to testing, packing and overall getting ready to leave for our trip in a couple hours.

Installing power brakes in your Scout 800 is easy until you need to relocate the battery. We just installed this system and relocated the battery as far forward as possible, and you can see how tight it is, but it does fit! Next up on this Scout are some power steering upgrades!

We get a lot of calls from customers having fueling issues at the pump. If you have a Scout II, it’s important to make sure the fuel filler hoses are routed correctly to prevent fuel from backing up at the pump.
If you have an early Scout II with the plastic filler neck, we recommend discarding it. The vent is located below the fuel nozzle, which can cause the venting to stop working properly during fueling.
Later steel versions moved the vent away from the nozzle and used a rubber section. This rubber section MUST be at or above the height of the lowest bend in the filler neck. See the illustration.
Later steel versions used a fixed pipe to keep the vent above the lowest point of the fuel flow.
We produce fuel filler necks designed for optimal flow on Scout II’s to help prevent these issues. However, proper venting is critical. Without proper venting, nothing will work correctly.

Another heavy-duty CPT Ford 9” axle assembly for this Scout 800 getting installed in our shop. We build these all the time, and they typically include a Tru-Trac limited slip, and all new components which includes parts from the brakes to yoke. These are a major improvement over the stock Dana 27 or Dana 44 and are honestly more cost effective than rebuilding a worn out Dana 44.
