We're moving! 🥳

Quick update to say we're currently in the process of relocating our shop. We'll still be in Grass Valley, and still offering the same high-quality service for emergency response and overland adventure vehicles, and if you've got a project you're looking to complete, we'd still love to hear from you, see what we can do to help, and get you on the calendar for when we've got things up and running in the new space.

Our new location will be at 12836 Greenhorn Rd, Unit 1B in Grass Valley.
This will, obviously, affect our lead times, and we'll be a little more distracted than usual. There's a lot of stuff to move! But don't hesitate to reach out if you'd like to work with us. We're hoping to be operational as soon as possible, and excited to see how the new space works for us.

Our address may take a little while to update across platforms, and at the time of this post we're still in our shop at 110 Spring Hill Drive, Suite 10, in Grass Valley. When in doubt, you can reach us at 530-507-0097 or [email protected]. That's not changing!

We'll keep y'all posted. Thanks for being awesome.

Powered up!

Some pics of our work on a variety of power systems. Custom aluminum bracketry to mount solar on top of a Ford Transit van, a compact power block for the rear of our work van, the switch panel and solar array for an Incident Command van, and a couple different Nimbl Evolution power bay configurations.

We combine high-capacity electrical systems with marine-grade components and clean, professional install, to provide systems for a variety of purposes. We work largely with Victron Energy and the folks over at Battle Born Batteries, among a range of other vendors, to deliver versatile and reliable power storage, charging, and management systems for all kinds of vehicles.

From running a full Incident Command Post for days, no generator needed, to powering up an expedition truck camper for thousands of miles of travel, we've got it covered. We can certainly do simpler setups, too! That's just the stuff we're really proud of.

Looking to touch up an existing system, or build one from scratch? We'd love to help. You can reach us at [email protected] or (530) 507-0097.

As always, take it easy and stay safe out there.

Need a lift?

Photos from a lift and leaf spring upgrade a little while ago. It's not our primary focus, but we're able to knock out tire, wheel, suspension, and lift jobs when needed to get a vehicle fixed up for a wider range of terrain. A little extra clearance goes a long way to expand maneuverability (though, with this particular van, a lift and larger tires provided a lot more than just "a little extra!")

We've worked on all kinds of rough terrain upgrades, for trucks and vans alike, expanding rough terrain capability for a variety of recreation, expedition, and emergency response vehicles. From subtle reinforcement to more complete overhauls. If you're looking to get tuned up, we'd be happy to help!

Got a project for us? Get in touch at [email protected] or call (530) 507-0097. We'd love to hear from you.

Coming together!

Deep storage drawers, custom-cut vent panels, water system access panel, a whole other block of cabinets, and a Dometic fridge under (what will be) the kitchen countertop. And this project still has a few cool things to go. All designed custom and made right here in Grass Valley, CA.

And this is just part of the work we do! In addition to custom fabrication and work on vans, we're equipped to take care of a wide range of install and repair work on everything from trucks to trailers to UTVs. If you're looking for high-quality work for a specialty vehicle, we've got you covered.

This van is done and out in the world now, we're just catching up on sharing some of the stuff we've been working on recently. It's been a busy spring!

If you want to help us carry that energy into this summer, give us a hand by sharing this post with someone you think would be interested. And if you've got questions for us or want to get started on a project, feel free to get in touch with us at [email protected] or (530) 507-0097, and we'll see how we can help!

Watch a center console come together!

Let's take a closer look at an earlier Search and Rescue truck build, which included installing and wiring a control console with controls for safety lighting, a PA system, and interior lights, as well as the control head for a mobile radio, attachment points for radio mics, and a RAM Mount for a phone, plus outlets for USB and 12V. It's a fully loaded unit with a metal housing, ready to hold up to heavy-duty use and keep essential control functions within easy reach at all times.

This is a small part of a larger build, which included adding a bed slider to expand cargo access, modifying a truck topper with a custom aluminum slide-through for carrying a pair of rescue baskets in a dedicated, easy-to-access position, with a shelf for a chainsaw and more rescue equipment in the rear compartment, adding a heavy-duty bumper with integrated lighting, and all-around flood lights to provide broad illumination.

All part of our ongoing to work to support public safety and emergency response agencies with high-quality, high-endurance service, repair, and install — building and outfitting vehicles with everything they need for safe and effective emergency response operations across a wide range of terrains and conditions. For the folks who have to be ready for everything, we're ready to help.

We can install and troubleshoot a variety of switching and control systems, to get easier, faster operation of key systems, especially lighting. If you're looking for something similar for your vehicle or agency, don't hesitate to get in touch. You can reach us at [email protected] or (530) 507-0097.

Custom work? You bet!

A few shots of our custom fabrication capabilities over here at the shop. We specialize in lightweight, heavy-duty aluminum fabrication. Cutting, bending, welding, and fastening to deliver specialty projects that are light, clean, and tough.

Shown here is a kitchen countertop installed in a Four Wheel Camper Project M, a roof-rack for a Polaris UTV deployed with Nevada County Sheriff's Search and Rescue, a set of custom MOLLE panels for the backside of a flatbed spare tire carrier, and an even lighter take on a kitchen mess for a Project M, with specially sized brackets for containers and a cooktop.

Our shop's ready to take on a wide range of fabrication projects, from small brackets, to more extensive builds, like wall panels, storage boxes, or entire overland flatbeds. We often work in a clean and textural bare aluminum finish, which holds up to all kinds of harsh environments. (Though we can certainly paint and coat as needed.) If you're having trouble finding a premade solution, we're here to help, all the way from design to installation.

We've been working on a ton of cool stuff the last couple months that we're excited to share when we get the chance. Until next time!

Got a project for us? Need help figuring out the details? Get in touch at [email protected] or (530) 507-0097. We'd love to hear from you.

More work on a van conversion!

Shown here, we've got continuing work on the water systems, setting up a water storage tank and water heater, as well as the first work on aluminum framing and carpentry for a full set of custom cabinetry, handcrafted right here in the shop, to create a stylish storage system with a rock solid foundation and tough exterior. Plus a Dometic drawer fridge, positioned to be easily reached at the door of the van. (One of two fridges eventually going in this build).

This van's out the door now, and we'll continue to share the build process as we get the chance.

We're ready to take on a wide variety of van maintenance, install, fabrication, and repair projects, from short-notice troubleshooting to full interior outfitting like this! We're Webasto and Eberspächer certified technicians, available to install, maintain, and repair fuel-operated heaters to keep your vehicle comfortable year-round. With summer coming up, I'd be remiss not to mention that we're happy to take care of ventilation fan and DC air conditioner install as well.

Want more info? Got work for us? Reach out to [email protected] or (530) 507-0097. We'd love to hear from you.
