We recently had the opportunity to bring this beautiful 38k-mile 1991 British Racing Green Mazda Miata back to life with a full round of maintenance and restoration work.
We started with all of the important preventative maintenance to make sure this classic is ready for many more years on the road — timing belt, water pump, seals, heater hoses, radiator hoses, brand new radiator, and all fresh fluids throughout the car.
From there, we moved into restoration work. BRG Miatas are well known for having flaking and sticky interior trim over time, so we restored the dashboard along with the original Nardi shift k**b and wooden parking brake handle to preserve that factory look and feel.
The driver’s seat also had some bolster wear, which we repaired as carefully as possible while still maintaining the originality of the interior. We added a custom name plate in the center console ashtray and installed a removable phone holder setup that can be taken off later without damaging the dash.
To finish things off, we detailed the exterior paint and replaced the old tires — the previous set dated back to 2008!
No project is too big or too small for us. From maintenance to full restorations, we’re passionate about keeping Miatas on the road and looking their best.
