This 426โ€ Dodge powered Daytona ran in Class B Production at Bonneville in 1970. It was sponsored by K&W Products from Whittier, California and driven by G. Nichols of La Habra. The ride was after LeVan Protheroโ€™s 1969 record of 202.514 mph. The Daytona was timed at 182.18 mph which left it third in class. 1st and 2nd place finishers were nowhere near qualifying so the old record was safe for another year.
